So far we have Welker, Meriweather, a 2008 1st and a 2008 3rd.

We have NINE picks. I suspect that we will try to push as much as we can into 2008. We have to make at least three picks.

There are certainly interesting players on the board at LB, at RB and in the defensive backfield. Some we posters gave been "targeting" for weeks:
LB: DeOssie, Bishop, Siler
DB: Wendling, Gattis, Jackson

I would think that running backs Bush and Pittman need to be considered.

and has the punter been picked?

We actually have four compensatory picks. Whether we can garner anyone

of value depends on whether we trade away one or both of our 4th

round draft picks. If we trade them, we will have to go almost two more

full rounds before we make a pick. At that point the remaining players will

be the same value as undrafted free agents with virtually no chance of

making the team. My guess is that the exodus of draft picks from 2007

to 2008 will continue and we can write off the 2007 draft.

Deossie please

I wouldn't mind if they traded a 4th rounder away for a third rounder next year. Stock up 2008. I love how they stockpile and upgrade picks which helps them stay ahead of the other teams. What other team consistently does this? This will help them stay ahead of curve.

I have the same people on my list, 25 in all. Also, Doug Free, OT, R. McKnight WR, Daren Stone SS

I'd be surprised to see another pick moved forward. There is good value on the back of this draft, and BB still needs 15+ players for Training Camp to flesh out the roster and create competition, may as well use those 9 picks to accomplish that as let them gather dust.

is this 15+ players taking into consideration all their free agency signings and troy brown, garrett mills?

Including Meriweather but not Troy Brown, the Pats have 70 players

on their roster. Three do not count because they are NFLEuropa players.

This means we have 13 spots to fill. Actually, we could probably sign 10

more than that because I believe that the draft picks do not count until

they are signed. Most of these spots will be filled with rookies because

the cost of signing mostly veterans would be too high.
