i gotta say, as a jets fan, this is the first season in a decade that I don't think the pats are just gonna kick our ass and have their way with the division. i'm wondering what has you guys so confident and if you know something I don't because at the very least, i figured you would be a little nervous for the first time in a long time...
You've got to be kidding me when you think the Dolphins could finish ahead of the Pats in 2010. I'll admit, the Jets look pretty damn good on paper but they still have Sanchez at QB and the Pats have Tom Brady. In the end, the only way I see the Pats finishing 2nd or even 3rd is if they implode like they did against Baltimore in the playoffs.
Fins They added Marshall to give them a legit WR target, but his YPC last year was 11.
Camarillo? 11. Bess? 10. Fasano? 11. Those are Welkerish numbers.
When Brian Hartline is your deep threat, you probably still have some work to do.
Then again they can always roll out the wildcat. Nobody will be expecting that!
Apparently the Fins are content with Soliai and his 5 career starts at NT for the first half of the season.
Did get a couple of linemen (Odrick, Oghobaase) that are fairly redundant with the guys they already have (Merling, Langford and Starks).
Need OLBs?
Got a couple of LBs (Misi, Edds) that fit better inside...where they just spent wads of cash for Dansby.
I'm sure Wake is ready to build on his 1 career start.
But seriously...the Jets and Fins have done some good things but both will be counting on new and unproven players to come up big. If they can do it, why is it so hard to believe the Pats can do it as well.
