When did the Bucs become 3-6?
Of course he does....he is coming to a team coached by BILL FUGGIN BELICHICK and a team that is going to be in the hunt for another SB......I'd be happy as a pig in sh$t too. Now what is he going to do to help get that title back to Boston?? He needs to keep his nose clean and be a LEADER on this defense. I don't think anyone questions this kid's talent, and he could be the "missing link" to this secondary. (Dennard, Chung, Gregory, a "Re-surging McCourty".....seriously....COULD be a damned good secondary. BUT he needs to clean up his act.....realize his role....and DRINK The ****** KOOL AID man.....Would love to see this guy tighten up the secondary and ignite their potential!! GO PATS!!!!!
UOTE=12+81=TD;3242185]The newest member of the New England Patriots has only been with the team for three days since returning from his suspension, but it's safe to say cornerback Aqib Talib is happy with the trade that brought him to Foxborough.

"Guys have been great. They've embraced me. I love this team," Talib told reporters Thursday via Brian Lowe of Patriots.com.
Aqib Talib on New England Patriots: 'I love this team' - NFL.com[/QUOTE]
Talib has no chance with the fans here.
The average NFLteam completes over 20 passes a game. The average starting WR catches about 5. An int every 3 games is excellent, and Talib will be criticized for every completion allowed and lambasted for not getting at least 1 Int per game.
I am glad that he "loves being a Patriot."
That is definitely better than the alternative.
Haha the sarcasm wasn't meant in a negative way.
It is helpful to see what Talib has to say since there weren't any press conferences or anything that I know of, so thanks for posting.
Definitely a "one man's trash is another man's treasure" scenario if this works out. Schiano is trying to set a tone for a young team that has no tradition (with current members).
Belichick has established a great locker room with former team captains. Pretty amazing considering it's all young players except for Tom, Vince and a couple others.
The guy might wash out, but he immediately becomes the best performer in the secondary and a little more fight among that group (not with each other, hopefully) might be what's needed.
It's a gamble, but the upside is huge and adding a little fight to the equation might be what we nee. It is football. Dillon wasn't a boy scout, but he ran angry from his first to last career carry, even as his wheels gave out.
I don't think our locker room is at risk, big Vince will ride herd on this guy if need be, so all we risk is a mid level pick when we already have a very young team.
If he buys into "Patriot Way" he will be a better person/player for it. With a chance to win a superbowl year in and year out it should be motivation enough. From what I read Pats locker room embraced him & feelin was mutual.
I agree with you on all accounts.
The only problem that I can foresee is that we would then lose picks for next year in rounds 4, 5, and 6 on "another teams' trash" should it not work out, not to mention the potential contractual problems that may occur with him as he is a FA at the end of the year.
Hopefully it works out for the best. I certainly laud the team and Belichick for going all in this year though, and trying to address a big weakness.
True, but neither one of them had any game left.
Talib can still play.
But, hes supposed to be a shutdown corner, Talib Island..
Never checked their record,I think they really are 5-4..but who cares?,they aren't going anywhere anyway
While you are probably right that they aren't going anywhere, Schiano has done an excellent job of turning the team around and instilling a more disciplined approach.
With a win on Sunday vs CAR, they would go to 6-4 and Greg Schiano may start to gain some credibility for coach of the year.
I still doubt that they can be much of a WC candidate with the cluster that is the NFC, but you never know.
Haynesworth was a lazy bum, Talib isn't. Ochocinco couldn't grasp the offense, the defense is so basic I'm sure Talib will be able to understand better.
If he does leave, at least we'll get a comp pick for him.
I get the feeling that at least half of the people who post on this board are just waiting and expecting Aqib to suck so they can Say I told you so, and to report that the NFL has passed BB by. I almost get the sense the only thing they want more than Aqib to succeed is Aqib to fail.
If he kicks assphault in the Sunday's game it will be "It's only one game. Let's see what he does against a good team" (as any team the Pats beat are not good, sine the Pats beat them.)
If he gives up a TD it will be "I've seen enough- this guys a bum. I KNEW it"
I don't know how good he'll play, but I can tell you that I WANT him to be good. Color me a homer because I want the team to win.
Talib doesn't have to be great,he doesn't even have to be very good....all we need is for him to do his job and on previous experience it shows he,even at his worst is still better than all the junk and crud we have in Pats uniforms in the secondary right now.
Talib is a slightly above avg nfl corner, not a jag, not a pro bowler. But that's better than anything this team has, which is pretty close to the worst performing secondary in the modern pass happy nfl. Never in the history of the league have receivers been so wide open so often. It is a wonder they went to the sb last season with this no pass rush/no cover/live and die with turnovers or lack thereof defense. Lets hope krafty bob and belichick don't waste another year of Brady's career with another atrociot defense. My hope is they turn the defense around like Indianapolis did towards the end of the season and playoffs when they won tbe sb.
He'll be going up against a future hall of fame WR, if he does well that is a good sign.
Yes, this is the truth. There is not middle way. One side or the other. Fans are farcking idiots on this kind of stuff, and the media feeds it.
