Just wondering if anyone from MA watched the debate last night on WBZ4 and if you have made your decision on who you are voting for?

I was still undecided up until I started watching the debate. Now I am leaning towards Deval Patrick.

Can't wait to catch the next debate next Wednesday!

As nice as Deval seems personally, I can't vote for him politically. I didn't see the debate as I had a funeral mass to attend, but Deval's political positions differ from mine. That said, it seems he is going to win.

Going into the debate, I was leaning towards Healy. But I guess I was "won" over last night with his debating skills and some of the ideas he has for making some changes here.

I am going into the debate next week with an open mind.

Honestly, I really don't have a strong dislike for either candidate.

Romney is "supposedly" considering a run for President. Or at the very least eyeing some "higher-up" appointed position within the Federal government.

Which would be interesting considering MA always votes democratic for Prez, yet Romney is Republican. Makes me wonder how the vote would go in the state.

My problem with Deval is his stance on illegals getting drivers licenses, and on his desire to give them free instate tuition. I had to pay to go to Suffolk University, so why should illegals go for free? Furthermore, I'm a little worried about giving a liberal state house a liberal governor. That scares me.

Massachusetts would vote "Charles Manson For President" as long as he was a democrat.

What I don't understand is why Kerry Healy went so negative. As far as I could see, she never had a shot. Running was more about raising her stature and getting herself out from behind Romney for future benefit. Going negative is supposed to be used when it has a chance to put you over the top. This way you can undo the damage you did to your own reputation by governing. Now it looks to me like she's going to be remembered as the candidate that told all of the female voters in the state that a vote for Patrick means you're gonna get raped by a black guy, and I don't mean just figuratively in terms of taxes or something. I mean literally raped. Those of you who live out of state should see what she's been endorsing the last few weeks. If she ends up with that rep around her neck, it doesn't bode well for her future.

I'm undecided between Patrick and leaving the ballot blank. I'm sure I don't wanna vote for any of the other candidates. I'd vote for Patrick; but I am a little worried about taxes and spending getting a little too crazy. I may just write in Tom Brady or Kurt Schilling.

I am in complete agreement about illegal aliens NOT being able to get driver's licenses, in-state tuition (my brother is at UMASS right now) and getting low-income housing BEFORE Mass state residents.

On the school issue, I live out here in Western Mass, and I would really, REALLY like to find a school that has a 13/1 ratio for teacher/students. Classrooms out here run about 20/1 ratio. Springfield, I believe, might be as high as 25/1. (I am not entirely sure about that fact, so don't nail to me wall with that stat).

I also feel like this whole "eliminate the tolls" was a publicity stunt for Healy to steal some of Devals thunder, so to speak. I don't pay tolls until I hit Springfield anyway, so it's not a big deal for us out here, although I am pretty sure we pay a gas tax as well.

I am wishing someone would eliminate excise tax on my cars!!!!!

I would support Deval under almost any circumstance because pro-business and civil-rights liberalism harkens back to Kennedy, whose ideas were stopped with a bullet. The difference between liberal pro-business people and the conservative ones is that the liberals believe the government can play a big role in influencing business and the economy. Liberal initiatives like environmental standards, minimum wage, educational aid, and workplace safety, auto safety have played a huge role in developing our economy and nation.

That said, I would probably not support Deval if he had Healey's personality and campaign. There's something about Healey that's very unappealing. In Cambridge, I sometimes run across her type -- these elitist people from old money who won't even look you in the eye. I bet if Harry Boy lived up here, even he wouldn't support Healey (though he'd never vote for Deval).

I want Deval to win, but those of you who think we need a third party in this country should consider Mihos. He actually has a lot of interesting ideas.

When I was younger living in Cambridge I voted many times for Democrats in fact most all of the time, many of us on the street corners worked for the candidates that were running for office, they were "different democrats" in those days though.
No, I couldn't vote for this Deval guy, not if he is planning on REWARDING Illegal Criminal Aliens with everything free that my family and all the foreign immigrants that I knew worked so hard to legally get, but America is changing, the old time values, the love for the country, the respect for our laws, the Socialist Progressive New Democrats are chipping away at all of our Old Time Values, they are Hell Bent on destroying America as it was, thank God they wer'nt around during WWI & WWII.

They are using our Constitution to destroy our Constitution we are under attack from "within" and the words "FREEDOM & RIGHTS" are two of the New Democrats biggest weapons, then as soon as the Progressive Socialist Liberal New Democrat comes into power the first thing they will do is to SILENCE the freedom of speech of people like me, the neo con, they will throw pies in our faces.
The freedoms of the the talk show host, the blogger, and Fox News will be trampled, security for the country will destroyed all in the name of "civil liberties" (for the enemy) then, the New Democrats will be happy, Al Boob Gore will be destroying wood stoves, John Fonda Kerry will be wearing his medals to work (like the Russians do) Uncle Teddy will go on a six month drunk and kill himself in his mothers old Rosemobile, Illegal Aliens with their new FREE drivers license will be motoring over to Auntie Pelosi's Vineyard to pick grapes for $2 an hour, Dan Rather and Katie Couric will have sex live on CBS, the Saturday morning Cartoons will have Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Popey, Olive Oil, and Bugs Bunny all sodomizing each other while the Little Illegal Alien Kids watch on their new FREE PLASMA TV's.

    Then It Will Happen
Mohammad will come to America with his backpack on and blow the whole f-cking country up.

    Surprise surprise.

My favorite part though, isn't the stupidity spewed in the first paragraph. That was expected. It wasn't even the dumby speak in the second paragraph where he tried to sound objective by saying he "wouldn't vote for Deval if" he was like Healey. It was that last line. Where he clearly tries to steer people to the 3rd party he is so conerned about because he likes Mihos so much. It wouldn't be because he doesn't want people to vote for Healey would it? If Mihos is so interesting why aren't you voting for him?

    What a fraud.

You mentioned earlier you are now leaning towards voting for Deval Patrick - I have spoken to a lot of people planning to vote for Deval and you are very much like them. Basically, I have been trying to find out why people who plan to vote for him are doing so. They can't really give any answer about why they are voting for him, they just are. So I ask if they think illegals should be allowed driver's licenses... and if they think the income tax should be raised... or if illegals should get in-state tuition... or if gasoline taxes should be lowered... or if they favor one-party government in the Commonwealth...

Time and again, they give the answers that agree with Healy's position and not Patrick's... but then they say they're voting for Patrick anyway

Real World, what are you talking about?. RDeval is ahead by something like 27% and, even if every right winger in this forum voted for Mihos instead of Healey, it would be no more than 10 or 20 votes. You're being ridiculous with this accusation. Healey is an awfully unappealing politician, whether you support her or not.

Also, dumby is not a word. I think you're thinking of dummy, but it does take quite a dummy to spell it wrong!
