Chayut and absurd were used in the same sentence throughout much of the Deion Branch negotiations. I imagine Chayut sees himself as an agent who will extract as much money as possible for his rookie clients since he has been so vocal in how they have been used in the past.
Chayut will probably push for a 3 or 4 year deal, which would probably drive a wedge into the proceedings right from the start.
Why would a 3-4 year deal drive a wedge into the proceedings to start with? Players taken outside the 1st round aren't allowed to be signed to more than a 4 year deal on their rookie contract.
