Before the Boston Patriots, I was a Giants fan. Most people I knew were.Lot of Giants history with NE as well. Don't know about the rest of you but I have a lot of friends who are Giants fans. They used to be NE's team for the most part.

If I'm not mistaken I believe that is actually a big factor in how the tradition began, going back to the AFL-NFL merger.
You may note that the first ever regular season AFL game was between the Boston Patriots and the Denver Broncos on Sept. 9, 1960, a Friday night. Why a Friday? Because Billy Sullivan was afraid all the Boston/New England fans would ignore the Pats to watch the Giants game that week. That's how big the Giants were in NE before the Pats came along.
