Just came back from running an erand, and heard about the 5.8 earthquake that shook this city for 30 seconds.

For anyone who lives in this city, is everything OK?

    #17 Jersey

I am not from there but early reports seem to indicate all is OK with no injury or damage.

Damnit! How come that earthquake couldn't be an 8.0 that occured under San Diego county?

Yeah, I work in Santa Monica, and you could definitely feel things rolling. Everything is ok. No injuries or structural damage reported.

Not too bad for a 5.4.

Definitely biggest one I've been in since I've been out here (1999).

I don't think I could have made it any more obvious that I wasn't serious with that comment. Jesus, here we go again.

I'm still an L.A. resident for another month, and it wasn't bad at all. A bit of a rumble over here in Brentwood, no big deal. Everything seems fine in SoCal, according to the reports.

Ouch, baby...very ouch. You'll be happy to know Chargers camp is just fine. I work in a high rise downtown and it was a pretty good one. Lasted a long time. No damage or injuries reported as of now.

Biggest one I ever felt was the Whittier Narrows quake in 87, think it was a 5.9 and killed 3 people and caused lots of damage. I lived in the area of the epicenter, so I felt it pretty strong. Don't remember feeling the Northridge quake in 94 too much.

I guess you want the entire NFL community and its fans to support the Chargers and all but ensure them a Super Bowl title.

Besides, I don't see how sacrificing several hundred people will help the Patriots.

After two posts, I now could not possibly make it anymore obvious that I was kidding.

In other news, it wouldn't help the Pats. It would help me. :D

I knew you were messing around, I was just pointing out that this would only mean the Chargers get the sympathy of all fans and the NFL.

    #12 Jersey

I live a bit south of LA- we felt the earthquake, but everything's fine. All in all, it's not looking too bad, despite the 5.8 measurement. Very little structural damage, no reported deaths.
