The more I hear and see about this guy, the more interested I get.

6-4 260 lbs with 4.7 speed YOWSA!!

Might he be a Willie Mac clone?? To me he makes more sense than Pos.

Tall, high motot guy, fast, big and explosive -- and oh, did I say quick??

Anybody have any input / opinions about him??

comparsion: Terrell Suggs (poor mans )

I really lke Spencer. He has the strength to hold the edge and force the plays inside. He also has the quickness and pass rushing skills the 3-4 OLB position requires.

The probelm the Patriots have with Spencer is that he is a one year wonder. He only produced in his senior season

I like him, he has a lot to learn about the LB position but he had the most important trait, he can get to the QB. If he goes in round 1 he has 5 years to learn the position, appears to be athetic enough to do it.

It all with the rush, look at the best Pat's OLBs over the past 5 years:
Will McG - can sack
Colvin - can sack
Vrabel - can sack (Ohio State all time leader in sacks)
TBC - fairly effective at getting to QB
Thomas - can sack

If Spencer gets the call and they can find a decent ILB (Bishop or someone like him) they can give Vrabel more reps at ILB in 07 and address Tedy's position next year.

I wouldn't be offended or disapointed by this pick.

I like him a lot but your size listings are off:

He is actually 6"2.7" and weighs 261lbs.

He's not a Willy Mac clone he's a cross between Colvin and Shaun Phillips. I think Spencer is better at setting the edge, though.

You are correct, he does make more sense than Pos, especially if you were drafting them for OLB.

OLB's:
LaMarr Woodley (second in Michigan history with 25 sacks)
Anthony Spencer (21 sacks)
Stewart Bradley

I think the 24th pick will be Spencer. I booked it in my Pat's 10 and I'll book it again here. He's big, fast and he's got the ideal speed and size BB looks for in LB's. This is not a Marquisse Hill conversion project. I truly believe that Spencer has the attributes to be something special in this league.

i think spencer is a great fit for us the next willie mac the bad part is he will be gone by #24 i think denver will take him
