I don't think the Pats are going to leave him out there all alone without some help behind him.

Pats have the 10th ranked rush defense in the NFL.

The glory days are back like in 03 and 04 where those defenses controlled the LOS vs the run and forced offenses to pass the ball. When you pass there is a greater chance of turnovers. Especially with QBs like Vick and Geno.

Jets wont do damage via the run.

This is going to be an ugly game. Last game Bill vs Rex as head coaches. Jets will want to be spoilers and cause injuries. Pats need to play smart and aggressive.

No! They hit the Pats at the right time the first game. Mayo just went down and the Pats didn't have time to adjust on a short week. Siliga was on IR. Ayers and Branch weren't on the team. This a completely different run defense now. It is one of the best run defenses in the league over the last 6-8 weeks since they played.

I don't why people think Jones is so bad against the run. Yes, he sucked early in the season, but who didn't. In his first two years in the league he wasn't bad at all vs. the run. And he did pretty well vs. the run last week.

I chock up a lot of his problems from playing in a position that doesn't fit him and possibly trying to do too much since they were struggling in a lot of areas. Because one of the things that surprised people so much about the guy early in his career was how well he did vs. the run since everyone thought he was just going to be a pass rush specialist.

I wouldn't call Jones terrible against the run by any stretch. Sometimes he's able to knife through and make a play. But on some plays where he has to hold his ground, determine whether the back is hitting the B gap or cutting outside, and stack and shed, he gets driven backwards a little too often. That won't change unless he adds significant weight, IMO, which could diminish his effectiveness as an upfield pass rusher. It is what it is. The Pats will probably give him his fair share of help in the form of a linebacker against the run. I do agree, however, that people should stop making him out to be the worst DE against the run in the league.

If the Jets run the ball like they did last week vs the Titans, we will hardly have to excel to keep their persistent running backs under 200 yards.

I think the bigger question might be: which Geno Smith and which wide-outs shows up on Sunday??

Chandler Jones is a top 10 4-3 DE in the entire league at stopping the run. You've apparently confused his struggles against Miami when NE oddly played him at 3-4 DE as being indicative of his ability when positioned properly.

Stole the words right out of my mouth. If the Jets run for 200+, it's because we played like absolute trash, worse than the KC game. This team has changed so much since they played and improved immensely in run defense. I vote for 0% chance they sniff 200 yards.

The Titans are horrible at stopping the run. You might as well point to how well Chris Ivory ran in high school for as much as that game says about how they'll do against the Patriots.
