Wilkerson or Heyward would have been great 3-4 ends for the Pats. With them both gone I don't see the value at #33. Almost certain some team trades up for Andy Dalton or Gabe Carimi, not positions of need for Pats.

Trade everything into next year...it's not like we have an aging QB or something.

Best guess, #33 goes to Seattle for their late #2 this year (57) and a second next year.

Seattle takes Dalton, jumping ahead of Cinncinnati

    Bears took Carimi...

    Otherwise, I definitely agree...

BB just said in his press conference that he has already heard from a couple of teams that have picks in the mid second round that have called about trading up to the Pats #33.

That's nice, I say lets take 2011 off by taking a dive in the 2011 season and we will have great Draft choices in 2012.
Maybe we can trade all of our picks tomorrow into 2012!

Let's see...have we bettered our-self for 2011?....And the answer to that is?..... no. Solder is a year away. He might as well sit on the couch with me and watch the games so he doesn't get hurt.

I can see him trading down to third and forth choices Friday then listening to the media say what a genius he is.

One good Draft in five years qualifies I guess.

    Oh well. To be expected.

Does anyone know of a phone company in Foxborough who can disconnect the phones at the Razor Friday so Bill can't trade down anymore?

Walk away from the ledge, DW. LOL. The Pats have plenty of picks to go yet. They will probably end up with around 10 selections plus 2-3 extra picks for 2012 before the dust settles. There are still some solid players that can be taken in round 2.

This seems about right. At some point we will likely secure another 2012 pick. This seems a very reasonable possibility. We would still have the same 3 2's and 2 3's tomorrow as we do now.

I also could see someone else wanting to trade up in addition to Seattle. Belichick has a long, long time to listen to offers.

And then next year, we trade the Seattle second for a pick in 2013....etc etc. And from 17, 28, and 33 we wind up with Solder and three late round seconds. Huh? And by the way, no team with #1 next year is going to trade the Andrew Luck spot.

Instead, why not be bold? Why not take a gamble on premium talent? Take Mallett at 33 and be done with it.

i think you only trade the 33 for a first rounder in 2012. anything less and it defeats the purpose.

I think you can move down and get two seconds, one this year and one next

thats the 33rd pick for a 2nd rounder in 2012. we would be getting a lower 2nd round pick to make up for our lost 33rd. why trade a very high second round pick in 2011 for a second rounder in 2012?? just make the pick at 33 and be done with it.

I think I was unclear. You move down in the second round and Also get an additional 2nd next year. You would still have 3 seconds and 2 thirds left this year and 2 firsts and 2 seconds next year

    :idea2:
Absolute nonsence. Rams, would they trade? Carolina after taking Newton... or how about Titans who spent 8th overall today, or Jags who took Gabbert. Teams that have $30m guarenteed in QBs cannot afford two of them.

    State the obvious

    Pats have refined draft mgmt

1 #1 to pick and pay and one #1 to .....................
Get as many two and threes for better chance of talent payoff for less $$$$

The Pats wouldn't touch Mallet with a 10 foot pole. They'll gladly relinquish the chance to draft him at #33 to another team though IF the Price is Right!

i'm up for trading 33 to Seattle... for 1st next year and a 3rd this year... along those lines. I think they will tank this year and hopefully they will acomplish what oakland failed to and get us a top 10 pick

I just can't wait to get up and just find out whose gonna get hosed. You know it's coming. Someone's gonna panic and cough up a first next year and trade up like 8-20 spots to 33. My guess is Wash at 41.

the pats walk away with 4 quality guys in the first 2 rounds, just like they were expected to.......... plus a couple more firsts to mess around with for next year.

    Bank it.

    Huh?

You want the Pats to take Mallett at 33?

if im the pats, i trade with the bengals, that team is almost sure to be in the basement for the next decade.

    AJ Green? what a joke.

Patriots Trade #33 and #92 in exchange for #35 and 2012 First round pick.

    ^^^^^^^^^^ MAKE IT HAPPEN.

Stupid Oakland... the Pats could had landed all those picks from Atlanta, instead of giving them away to Cleveland so as to draft Julio Jones.

Someone pointed out on the radio that if you're calling someone who's on the clock, it's pretty much mandatory that you say who you plan to take.

I think if that had transpired as you suggest, about 30 GMs/owners would be descending on Tom Dimitroff with pitchforks and torches, ;) and Goodell would find a way to take away the 2012 1st. . . .
