Multiple people shot near Texas A&M University - CNN.com

CNN) -- Police took a man into custody Monday after "multiple people" were shot near Texas A&M University, a police official said.

Several law enforcement officers were among the people shot, Rhonda Seaton of the College Station Police Department told CNN. She didn't have information on how many people were shot or their conditions.

She said a person identified as the gunman was in custody. The shooting happened about one block from campus, Seaton said.

Officer Jon Agnew with the Bryan Police Department said at least one civilian had been injured. Bryan is adjacent to College Station.

They killed the shooter, they were trying to evict him, join the army, it is safer in Afghanistan today than it is in America.

You just made me realize I'm going to try to not watch or read anything about this incident. what's the sense really? All it does is get you depressed and angry and I've had enough of both lately.

    Sorry to be a downer....

Nah man...I agree to some extent.

But the issue needs to be talked about. Nobody needs 6,000 rounds of machine gun ammo.

We need to ask the fundimental question, why do americans like to shoot people?

(I have my own theories, but that might offend 'gun-owners')

Was he carrying 300 pounds of ammo? I'm guessing he wasn't. Don't let facts get in the way

well, you are "guessing" something...then talking about facts....so...

I'm not talking about the TExas A&M shooter, I'm talking about the Denver a-hole with the 6,000 rounds of ammo, and the ISSUE of gun control. Even Antonin Scalia agrees with me on this one, and he's a dikhead.

If you notice that the majority of instances with these rampage shooters, most of the time they have all taken place in spots where guns are "banned."

I don't think that machine guns should be legal either, but you've got to allow law abiding citizens to bear arms and to protect themselves from gang bangers, rampage shooters, and other pyschopaths. These maniacs usually pick places where they don't expect CHL holders to exist. Notice you don't ever see these pathetic little chicken ****s running into a police station, gang hangout, or a fire station or places like that.

Actually, I've always been amazed how barracaded police stations are. Maybe not in nice neighborhoods, but when they locate a police station in the hood, its not like there's a big welcome mat on the doorstep.

Was the Denver nut carrying 6000 rounds. No... Please quote Scalia for clarification purposes.

“Yes, there are some limitations that can be imposed,” he said. “Obviously, the [Second Amendment] does not apply to arms that cannot be carried. It does not apply to cannons.”

Scalia: 'Limitations' possible for gun control - Washington Times

he PURCHASED 6,000 rounds. That should send off a red flag or three. I'm sure a debate in court would have Scalia thinking about weather 6,000 rounds of ammo is = a cannon.

I get it you don't like guns, but 6000 rounds doesn't equal a cannon and the fact that you can't physically carry 6000 rounds of ammo escapes you. ( Think about carrying Big Vince around on your back).

If he had bought 100 rounds a day for 60 days would you still be outraged that he had 6000 rounds?

If his name was Muhammad Hussein Jihad, and he was buying 100 rounds of semi-automatic weapons for 2 months, would you want him on a watchlist?

    yeah, I thought so...

You can carry a flame thrower, a rocket launcher, even one of these http://fridayfunnylol.files.wordpress.com/2011/07/gatling_gun.jpg . Does that mean we should all just not talk about some kind of limitations on this, and as a society start to talk about gun ownership and where we are going as a culture? I think now is beyond the time.

Would you like the government monitoring your purchases to see if there is anything that could be taken as illegal?

When should the government take preemptive action? 10 rounds? 100? 300?

Maybe excessive purchases of muchies could be investigated as evidence of drug usage and so on...

So...If you WANT Mr. Jihad on a watchlist, then you are FOR some kind of discussion about limitations on ammo-or kinds of weaponry protected by the 1st ammendment

If you DON'T want Mr. Jihad on a watchlist, then you could care less about terrorism, the troops and obviously hate the falg...

I think we need to start discussing WHY americans seem to kill each other at an alarmingly high rate.

Citing the 2nd amendment, and saying that "Its not time to discuss this" is a line of crap.

oh...you must not've been around for the passage of the patriot act, or be 11 years old?

    muchies?.....

(I know what you meant....but its funny to say)

I think 500 rounds is a great place to start. What the F do you need to shoot 500 times, with an AK-47?

If you want to go to the gun range, you can purchase ammo THERE. There is no need for the killing-spree purchase.

sucks...but we cant carry water on a plane because of ONE a-hole. Nahmean?

If Mr Jihad is in the US legally and buying his guns and ammo legally, you know showing proper ID than I don't care.

I find it intresting your all in for profiling people who buy Guns and Ammo legally yet you're (probably) against Voter ID.

    welcome to the forum. ;)

I'm cool with people showing ID to vote. Each state has its own laws ( Voter ID laws - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia ). What I'm AGAINST is changing the requirements to surpress a demographic.
