"Sometimes this is a difficult road being in politics," Obama said. "Sometimes you can become fearful, sometimes you can become vain, sometimes you can seek power just for power's sake instead of because you want to do service to God. I just want all of you to pray that I can be an instrument of God in the same way that Pastor Ron and all of you are instruments of God."

He finished his brief remarks by saying, "We're going to keep on praising together. I am confident that we can create a Kingdom right here on Earth."

Jeez this guy is an idiot! His religious views make him discredited and he should be locked in a mental hospital because he is part of a cult.

Hey, slow down guys. I think he's on to something. We can argue about the particulars, but his idea has merit. What does the Lords Prayer say: "Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven." God's Kingdom is what everybody needs.

No no no no, you see - whatever you say - this guy is still in a "cult religion" that is "idiotic" and "illegitimate". Whatever he says he will always be part of this "right wing" religion. NO SOUP FOR HIM.

Man, I like Obama personally, as I think he might be the most honest, and sincere person in the entire election. so when he says this stuff I think he genuinely means it. The problem is, had a repub said this stuff, how quick would certain people be posting that he was a religious loon, or my favorite, a "Jesus Freak"? I have no problem with people who believe in God running for office, and expressing their faith. Obviously, there are limits, as you don't want a real loon up there, or you don't want someone that is FOS about it.

I'm with you, Obama seems very sincere. I just won't vote for him. And I also agree that if a Republican had said this, the angle would be "hey look at the crazy Christian! THey're so wacky and stupid!"

What you have to watch for is how the possibly wacko politician defines the relationship. If God is on their side, a red light should blink. If they are on God's side, no guarantees, but you can feel a bit safer.

Obama mentioned "God", he just lost the support of Larry "F-cko" Flynt, 90% of the Sit Com Watchers, most all of Hollywood and Paris Hilton :singing:

Picture Huckabee saying this, as he's a very religious person from what I've seen of him. Some pundits would be making faces, but the take on this will be how passionate he is or something.

As for his politics, what little I've learned, is not to my liking. I like him personally, but I'm not so sure politically. The thing is, I still don't know enough about him. Like I said before though, I think he should have run for governor of Illinois first.

When you say "as for his politics" are you speaking of Obama or Huckabee? I would think for sure that you wouldn't go for Obama, he has one of the most liberal voting records in the Senate, which I didn't assume you would go for. Nice, honest guy, just borderline socialist.

If it's Huckabee you're speaking of, I think you'd probably be a little more comfortable with him. He does seem like he might be cut a little from the neo-con mold, but he is really genuine. I met him at a race in Somersworth, New Hampshire. Good guy.

Obviously, you should find out for yourself, which I know you would anyway.

Your reported to the SPCA,ADHA,ADD,TBUA, and Jessie/Al for pointing out that race has nothing to do with this.

Good luck, it may be easier to declare yourself as a racist right wing nutjob now - just like your lacky obama :singing: :singing: :bricks:
