Mine was close to what I expected with the exception of social issues ... I see myself @ 75% liberal in that area ... I wish there were more questions.

Mine is very close to how i see myself ... Conservative or liberal based on iisues but I am definitely not painted with a broad brush.

That's pretty much how I thought it was going to turn out. I'm more socially conservative and economically liberal. A populist basically.

Miranda is a farce and a lawyers excuse for making $$$. Miranda lapses have let many criminals back on the street ... I wish there was something better than Miranda to keep criminals locked up.

if someone confesses to something coerced or not then that should be admissable. I don't think criminals are a fault of society at all ... I think they are all social deviants who cannot be helped. Those that change do so on their own of their own mind and those that don't ... they simply do not care. Rehabilitation of criminals is a huge waste of $$$. The only rehabilitation I believe in is mandatory education in prison ... that's all we can do for them.

I have little to no tolerance NEM of people that abuse society. My score says I'm 75% conservative on personal responsibility ... I was surprised it was not 100%.

Look ... I grew up poor ... in a project. I've had a job since I was 8 years old peddling papers. Bought my own car and paid my own bills, college (3 degrees), marriage day $$$, and house purchase on my own. I was subjected to all the bad in life and I rejected it ... well, with the exception of a little weed way back then ;) .

As the Miranda applies to wife beaters and child and/or sex abusers I feel they do not even deserve to have it read to them. Murderers apply here also..they do not deserve it.

The only criminals I feel bad for are the mentally impaired ... the other losers I have no use or sympathy for. You are what you are and it is what it is. Miranda as it applies to the mentally ill is a good thing ... for everyone else ... it is used in the wrong way as it was intended.

When I worked in Corrections, we had to give a similar warning when we locked people up for in house disciplinary infractions, my view is it is something you do as a process thing.. nothing more and nothing less... anyone who deals with taking away people's freedoms should not view it as cumbersone, but just something you do to insure due process. It is no biggy, if you do not do it, then you do not know how to do your job.

Not a good test. Although my scores reflected my views somewhat, the questions are oversimplified and the answers were often in conflict with each other. For instance, I think it's dangerous to carry a gun but everyone should have the right to do so IMO. And what about the abortion answers? Abortion should be legal in all cases or abortion should be discouraged, restricted or illegal. Why can't it be discouraged and legal? Bad survey. too much black-and-white answers to oversimplified questions. Exactly what's wrong with our society.

How Liberal Or Conservative Are You?

There really weren't enough questions. For instance on defense and crime, I doubt I'm 50% conservative, but the overall score probably is accurate for me.

Then there's this one, which has been posted in this forum in the past:

    http://madrabbit.net/webrabbit/quizshow.html

I scored an 8, though I really doubt I'm to the right of Kennedy.

I scored 17 on this one, placing me between Clinton and Powell. I think that's fair.

I scored a 21, between Powell and Bush I. I hate being in the "center".
This is even oversimplified on many of the questions. I laughed at the one that asked "Who's a better president, FDR or Reagan?"

I agree Wistah. The questions are both simplified and restrictive. Participating in such a limited exam puts forth false impressions of a persons political ideology. Life is not as simple as yes or no, left or right, coke or pepsi. By viewing peoples results, I could unfairly label them through a silly questionaire.

The environment was another one Wistah. We should succumb to enviro-nazi's or should bend over to big business. Idiotic. We should certainly be concerned with the enviroment, but do we eliminate cars to do it? Dumb survey.

This was better than the previous one. I got a 26, but some of the questions I answered even though I couldn't truly give a reply. I chose Reagan simply cuz I knew him and liked him. Elders versus Robertson I picked niether. I'm 32, so I wasn't as politically charged back in '94.

I scored a 31 on that last one but many questions were too "either/or and had little room for the magical grey area.

I suspect you would have picked Elders. She got in a lot of trouble (and was let go) for advocating the teaching of masturbation as part of the campaign to teach people to have safe sex.

"We know that more than 70-80% of women masturbate, and 90% of men masturbate, and the rest lie." --Jocelyn Elders.
