Oman, sounds like he hit on hard times :( The injury he sustained back in 01 apparently sidelined him for the season and he was collecting NFL disability for it.

To save anyone else the Herald click:
It also seems the pawn shop owner has NO intention of selling it either. Sad situation :(

    No Jersey Selected

Wow, 2000 bucks really IS chump change. I wonder what the rings were worth at the time they were made for the team.

At that price, imagine how many Pats fans would want to own SB ring #1.

WOW, he got $100,100.00 for it, although the bids look very fishy, it was going along up to about 60,000grand and then all of a sudden a bid came for 100,000 and then 100,100. Let's see if the guy really comes up with the cash on this one.

Do you rather he deal with Tony Soprano? You may not like pawn shops but they serve a purpose and they are legal.

I wonder who bought it? Wouldn't it be awesome if it was Kraft or someone associated with the Pats? That'd be such a nice story :)

In my early days, I fed my family by pawning my watch and wedding band just about every two weeks. :) Then again, I'm still wearing both.

100 large for a super bowl ring belonging to the immortal Brock Williams; imagine what the ring owned by MR TFB from the same game would fetch.

    Incredible.

    And 110.00 for shipping.

Gee, what a swell guy Mr pawnshop owner turned out to be, had an offer to sell it but said no, it's not for sale, then he peddles it on Ebay to the highest bidder.

If Brock Williams gets a ring (I remember him well), do the stadium custodians get SB rings too?

How do you know its not?

I have been to Vegas 10x and believe me,Those pawn shops are not the type of place you want to visit out there - Most of them are in the scum areas of the city near downtown.

I love Vegas because I am a diehard gambler, but I try and stay away from the dregs of society in the downtown area as much as possible

I don't know it's not, but I didn't make the claim one way or the other. You did. Pawn shops perform a pretty valuable service for some people, and they certainly aren't all sleazy.

I think he needed the cash to pay for treatments for that high ankle sprain.

I manage to live life without dealing with either. I don't think his characterization was too far off base. Yes, mosquitos and slugs serve a purpose too.
