Former top ten overall maybe could turn into a good OLB in the 3-4

Denver, CO
Height: 6-4
Weight: 265 lbs. Age: 26
Pos: LB

TACK 44.0 | FF 0 | INT 0

Yeah, I think if he was used right...he could be a faster version of Tedy type player.

He was drafted as an end. I would think that this is his strength...but he could be a very versatile player. No doubt.

Why would the 49er's give up on him? Don't get it.

cuz he tanked. Couldn't get the job done whatsoever. That isn't a good sign when you're a number 7 overall pick. I'll pass.

While this might be true...you could also say that about...

Vrable (never got the job done, never stood out from the others)
Harrison (yes, there was doubt about him)
Dillon (bad seed)
...there are others, but my point is stated.

I'm sorry but I totally disagree. Vrabel played for a great defense and was drafted to change positions for the steelers. He never panned out for them quick enough, but remember, Vrabel played with GREAT players in front of him. If you were a skeptic about Rodney then you just don't really know football. Anyone who has watched the Chargers over the yrs. has seen a player perform yr. in and yr. out. He was cut to save cap money. That thought he might have lost a step, sure. But, atleast he had a step to lose in the first place. Last but not least, Dillons problem was a bad attitude, not talent problem. Two totally different things. You cannot justify comparing Andre to any of these players. Also, I was just trying to answer your question as to why the 49ers would give up on him. They converted him to OLB not cuz it was a good upside decsion but mostly becuz he couldnt get it done a DE, and remember he was playing with the 49ers. He's the complete example of an underachiever. None of the guys mentioned above are in that category.

As per nfl.com stats page.

Sorry, But I still stick to it that he has been over rated since day one. If he comes in a the min., then bring em on. But he won't, and instead of wasting money on a turd, I'd rather spend some extra money on a guy like Will Witherspoon. Okay, I know i'm dreamin'.
