This year's fan targets are:
This needed it's own thread?
Sure it does. With Koppen injured, Butler and Tate gone, the complainers will need to find new scapegoats for their lives. I'd love to have it in just one thread.
You're forgetting Guyton and McCourty every time he doesn't shut down an All-Pro.
Guyton belongs on this list .. poor sack of shat ..
Guyton is my only target as of right now. I've seen enough to know that I've seen enough. Please god let Edds be something.
I could care less if other guys are twittering or god forbid actually get injured playing football or aren't fully up on the system yet.
It was a weird (non) off-season and I am willing to be patient as guys fit in.
But the one thing Guyton is supposed to do is be able to cover and I haven't seen it once yet this year (including pre-season).
Hopefully he'll shut down Gates and I can chow down on some crow on Monday.
But as far as players who seem to be taking crap in general, add Cunningham to the list.
Don't forget Jermaine Cunningham.
When Meriweather, Butler and Tate were cut the Debbie Downers partied all night long. After they awoke from their hangover they found their life had no meaning, so they searched for Albert Haynesworth but could not find him. Then out of the corner of their eye something caught their attention, and they were attracted to the light like a moth to a bug zapper:
Bodden is old, overpaid and injury prone; Ninkovich (how dare he be extended!); the UDFA JAG BJGE; any rookie RB that does not run for 1000 yards like BJGE did last year; that piece of glass Dowling; that overpaid Mankins guy; that bust Solder; that old and slow Light guy; Cunningham's a bust; so is Spikes; Chung and his bonehead fake punt; whoever the long snapper is he sucks and why didn't we pay Paxton what he wanted the Krafts are cheap; Wes Welker is old, injury prone, and not buying into the Patriot way trade him for a draft pick now; Edelman is no Welker, cut him too; should have traded Brady when we had the chance, especially if Cassel should happen to have a 300-yard game or a game winning drive; every defensive lineman if Richard Seymour has a sack; every CB if the opposing QB completes a pass; anybody cut should have been kept; and anybody else I may have left out if any play does not result in a touchdown by the Patriots.
Heck, I believe there were some folks suggesting that the Pats bench and/or cut GRONK last year after Cleveland. . . .
Wouldn't Merriweather, Butler, Tate etc. all being released verify the criticisms bestowed upon them?
As far as Ocho, it's clear he has not mastered the playbook, it is early but it also only a 16 game season, he needs to get up to get up to speed quick.
Spikes may or may not be crazier than a ****house rat but it seems like he very well may be, being a healthy scratch is not a good sign.
Maybe sometimes criticisms are warranted, it's not always necessary to shoot the messenger
Thats a Big 10-4, I was thinking of that earlier this week. All it took was a couple of botched plays and it was Cut his Azz. I assumed the poster was a young child.
You're forgetting the safeties -- not their fault, really, but we could have had better ones if the Pats hadn't stuck w/ Meriweather and Sanders so long.
Connolly will also have his rough moments from the fan base.
So will every DE who goes 3 games without a sack.
Meriweather had been around since '07. His being released in 2011 doesn't "verify" criticisms that are 3-4 years old.
Wait, isn't BB's draft record the new target?
So, I put up the "MHK" avatar up and a few weeks later someone takes my old avatar.... :violent:
And why not man with all the answers? He barely played in 07 and was released before his rookie contract ran out, the criticisms were mostly from his play in 2010 and he won't be around to see 2011. The criticisms of his play were legit even though the usual experts on this board always argued otherwise.
And weren't you the same person who couldn't contain himself in the Belichick documentary thread posting nonstop about how right 'you' were about Moss Welker, this that and everything else whenever BB talked, so much so you were being mocked for it?
So which is it, when somebody makes an observation and it is "verified" by either a move (a player being released) or a statement, it's OK for you to gloat about it but when anyone else does it they're just a whiner or it's not legit. The arrogance of some people on this board is amazing.
I don't think we should forget Antwaun Molden.
Claimed after failing to play his way into the Houston Texans secondary (No 1 defense in net passing yards allowed in 2010) Molden appeared in 0 defensive snaps and participated in 2 (of 4) special teams units.
