ZOGBY: CONGRESS RATING HITS ALL TIME LOW...

The Zogby poll used to track slightly to the right, but now it has turned slightly left. Even they have to admit that even with all the hyperventilation over the "bad Bush" administration, Nancy Pelosi's Democrat Congress is performing even lower. The Dem's "small ball" play is not winning any games, and the people know it.

By John Whitesides, Political Correspondent Wed Jul 18, 8:13 AM ET

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Most U.S. voters think the country is on the wrong track and remain deeply unhappy with President George W. Bush and Congress, but still feel good about their finances and optimistic about the future, according to a Reuters/Zogby poll released on Wednesday.

Eighteen months before Bush leaves the White House, nearly two-thirds of Americans say the country is headed in the wrong direction and give the president negative marks for his job performance.

An even bigger majority, 83 percent, say the Democratic-controlled Congress is doing only a fair or poor job -- the worst mark for Congress in a Zogby poll.

But despite their dim views of government, majorities of Americans remain upbeat about their personal finances and security, and nearly two-thirds are very or fairly confident their children will have a better life than they do.

Pollster John Zogby said the split between voters' views of government and of their personal well-being has grown in recent years, particularly after the failed federal response to Hurricane Katrina in 2005. ....

Arguably the single worst Congress in the history of the Republic. Thank you Nancy Pelosi. Thank you Ted Kennedy.

again... ratings for congress are always bad... ratings for this congress are particularly bad because Bush Leaguers are stonewalling and nothing is getting done... regardless, no Congress was remotely as damaging to the Republic than the 109th... Don't embarrass yourself, Qui Qui, by suggesting otherwise...

To bad theses hearings arn't on the three major networks. The issue is important enough, and who watches c-span? well me. Then maybe more average citizens would be aware of whats going on in congress.

Bring back Cunningham, commute Abrahamoff's Sentence, make Vitter head of the family values section in the white house.. they are all good, great folks who make congress shine. If you want a scorecard of all the party of family values scandals.. click on the below, used to be on Wayne Madsen, but now he has a pay site, don't throw out the baby with the bathwater.

This Congress has a 17% approval rating. 17%. Jeb Bush, Fred Thompson, and Mitt Romney could probably get better approvals, and none of them are even in office at the moment.

Nancy Pelosi is a walking fiasco. Not a bad looker for a woman her age, but a total debacle as a Speaker.

Larry Flynt. Now there's a role model if there ever was one. He could certainly answer the question: "Does pandering to the lowest common denominator of prurient interest sell?" He learned all the wrong lessons from William Randolph Hearst.

Tell me... are you a moron that simply believes anything he hears, or do you look at such a statement and evaluate for yourself whether or not it's true..? Seems to me like you're more of the former and less of the latter. Personally I don't believe such a statement simply because if Flynt had the goods on a Republican Senator, why would he just sit on the info..? I guess you figure he just wants to shy away from salacious controversy

Who do people blame for Congress' inaction? My guess is a majority would blame the Republicans, not the Democrats. So, the poll shows dissatisfaction with Congress, but it doesn't necessarily reflect as badly on the Democrats as on the Republicans. As we approach election time, when every Congressperson wants to save their own skin, large majorities of both parties will approve some pork barrel spending and other locally popular initiatives, and their approval ratings will go up.

Oh my, Patters, you've sure told some doozies but this one takes the cake in terms of idiocy...

Let's see... there is a democratic majority in the Senate... there is a democratic majority in the House... Nancy Pelosi is the most powerful person in Congress... but when people express dissatisfaction with Congress, it somehow shows people unhappy with Republicans..?

Tell me... this is a serious question... do you just enjoy spinning for the sake of spinning or are you just so retarded you actually believe your own nonsense..?

If your premise were correct and poeple 'blame the pubbies and their policies then logically Bush would have a lower rating than congress (since he is by far the highest pubbie), However thisis not the case his rating is double that of congress. IMO If Bush hadn't been pushing with the dem leadership for the illegal alien amnesty his atings would be 10-15% higher. This position cost him heavily with conservatives.

As someone wise once said: "Take the logs out of your own eyes before squawking about specks in others' eyes."

Larry Flynt, qualified to cast aspersions? Not likely.

Give it a rest, you can say that to every politician in Washington, yet they don't keep their mouths shut. You know, the David Vitters and Don Livingstons of the world. I'd rather the truth come out, even if it comes through an imperfect vessel like Larry Flint.
