Whether this security guy story goes anywhere or not, Bradymanny was right in that other thread about how the Colts need to stop pumping in sound.
Everyone knows they do it. They know they do it. If they don't stop they will get caught.

it will be funny to see all the extra pressure on the home fans to create noise as loud as the speakers when the colts actually decide to stop using them.

it's definitely going to sound funny being so quiet in the dome compared to when they were pumping in the fake stuff.

these fans have a lot of pressure on them.
What happens if for all the remaining colts home games it is significantly quieter in terms of crowd noise?

then they are guilty either way. i love it.
    Dungy is a fraud.

That's a good point, if it sounds noticeably quieter, that would be a little embarrassing for the Colts. You'll probably see Bill Polian ditch his box to sit with the fans, barking into a megaphone over the next few weeks just to avoid the embarrassment of the RCA dome suddenly becoming less of a deafening crowd.

And on top of that, they are going to face the same microscope we faced the weeks after the videogate thing. Everyone was waiting for us to lose to prove that the video-taping had something to do with our success.

Folks are going to be watching the Colts at home very closely. If it's a) quieter in the dome - bad news for the Colts, people will suspect they were amplifying the crowd and b) if they start losing games at home, people will point to the ridiculous crowd noise and its affect on the opposing QB and it being a huge HFA, etc., etc....

I posted something similar to this in one of the many 'noisegate' threads, but took it one step further. If, in fact, the had been piping in sound, there's little reason to believe they'd continue doing it after feeling the heat this week (and I firmly believe they WERE doing it, and Goodell and Co. helped to cover it up but told them the practice needs to stop).

So, with that in mind, why not analyze the decibel levels from this past CBS game to their next home game? I saw, in one of the earliest threads about the noise, a link that showed the glitch in the 4th quarter and the resultant decibel levels.

For anyone with the means to do it, why not compare the Pats-Colts game to the Indy-KC game in two weeks? If there is a noticable drop in the decibel levels that would solidify it for me. If not, then we might have to drop all this talk (or Polian has the league wrapped around his finger that much that he'd be arrogant enough to continue the practice).

They'll keep pumping in noise the the NFL will continue to ignore it.

great point, because after all, the KC game will be as highly anticipated as "SB 41.5"

I have to agree with this.

Colts fans make much more noise squealing in despair as the Pats beat them at home than they do in an easy game against KC. It's only natural.

I thought about that, but how much higher of a noise level do you really think a fan base can generate? And if that doesn't suit you, how about their first playoff game, which should be (unless they really drop off, which I wouldn't expect) at the RCA dome?

Either way, I think it'd be an interesting analysis.

Seattle was accused of fake crowd noise a year or two ago. What that did was pissed off their fans and made them yell even louder. I'm sure this will have a similar effect on Indy.

Only they'll be shouting louder to try to 'cover up' the fact that they had been pumping in noise. This is hard to prove unless someone goes in there and really investigates this issue. So far nobody has been willing to do it and the league and CBS have tried to hush it up, so to speak.

the nfl and cbs were quick to back them after their 12 minute investigation.

we all know it's the patriots fault anyway. somehow the media will spin the colts' audio on this team...

Because the level of the crowd noise mic on the CBS broadcast is controlled by a slide pot in the truck... they create a sound mix that's fed to the satellite and they can adjust the level of the crowd to best mix it with the announcers, and the field level mic, etc.

The only way to do what you speak of is to actually do it IN the dome... and even then you'd have to take samples from MANY different games and MANY MORE different game situations and MANY MANY MANY different locations within the stadium to compare them and really make the results credible.

Is it that well planned out? That you have different enhanced sound levels for different teams? Well, I suppose we should be pleased you saved the loudest levels for us!

It makes sense, now that I think of it. You wouldn't want the crowd making as much noise for the Chiefs as you did for the Pats.

I wonder how Polian knows when to enhance and when not to. Must be hard. Or maybe not. As the Byrds (sort of) said:

For every home game - hum, hum, hum
There is a crowd noise - hum, hum, hum
A diff'rent noise for every team you play

A time to cheer, a time to tear
A time to laugh, a time to weep
A time to dread, a time to fear
A time to cheat, a time to reap

For every home game - hum, hum, hum
There is a crowd noise - hum, hum, hum
A diff'rent noise for every team you play

A time to crank up, a time to break down
A time for amps, a time for scamps
    A time to amplify cheers
A time to gather cheers together

For every home game - hum, hum, hum
There is a crowd noise - hum, hum, hum
A diff'rent noise for every team you play

    A time of O, a time of D
A time you should, a time you shouldn't
    A time you may enhance
A time to refrain from enhancing

For every home game - hum, hum, hum
There is a crowd noise - hum, hum, hum
A diff'rent noise for every team you play

A time to lie, a time you should not
A time to stop, a time to get caught
A time to love, a time to hate
A time to come clean, but I swear it's too late!

Well that's a shame. I blindly hoped it'd be as easy as I envisioned, but apparently I was wrong.

If that's the case we need some inv. journalist trying to make a name for himself to really dig into this. It would put a big smile on my face if it came out that they actually did this.

    Keegs...Dungy IS a fraud

what is even MORE important though, is the FACT that Bill "Polistopheles" Polian is a Colonel Jeesup, just waiting for ANYONE in the neutered media to get him on the stand and let him blow up in his full blown Patriot hate megalomania for EVERYONE to see.

He's the unseen force, the unnamed Midwestern source, the behind the scenes Ratgini master, the source of Casserly's "unnamed source says" reports and EVERY OTHER attack on the Patriots organization, their good name and Bob Kraft's good reputation.

He needs to be brought out into the light and exposed for the damned psychopathic megalomaniac that he is.
