Being American Muslims, maybe they're concerned with whether their lives will be better with a Democratic president, or one from the party of xenophobia and ignorance.

And maybe, just maybe, they are concerned with the people of those countries, but realize that in the Iraq war, many many more of their coreligionists were killed, without such precious sentiments on the part of the pubbie right.

I hope you realize that Muslims sometimes vote what's best for them rather than what's best for muslims of another country that probably don't care much about.

Also the right has demonstrated a dislike of Muslims so no surprise

I'm fed up with all this republican supporters rubbish.

Why didn't they get in? Why is it the entire globe was praying that Obama got in?

Because the republicans have an image where they are sexist, homophobic, racist warmongers who support the very people that got us in to this financial mess.

They need to drop this image.

It's not just an image. That's the tricky part. :)

Seems other minorities/ethnicities liked him as well..

Remember all the jabberwocky about how the Jews hated Obama, and if an election was held in Israel today????

    So that explains these signs......

In all seriousness, that 69% was lower than the 78% he got in 2008 and the lowest percent by a Democratic candidate since Dukakis in 1988.....

Anyone who actually wants real insight into this question I strongly suggest you read this very illuminating piece from Kansas City Royals writer and Syrian-American Muslim Rany Jazayerli:

Rany on the Royals: The GOP And Me.

Republicans can choose to either listen and try to honestly understand this or they can carry on blaming the other and sticking their fingers in their ears. I honestly don't care, in fact I'd prefer they did the latter and watched their Party go down the drain. Nevertheless, this is the answer to the OP's question.

Well, to be fair, Israeli Jews and American Jews are two different breeds. The top four parties in the Knesset are right of center, and fairly far right in the case of Yisrael Beiteinu and Shas.

I'm not convinced Obama would win an election in Israel, but here in America, Jews are reliably Democrat voters and have been for a long, long time. Thankfully, it actually pokes holes in the idea that American and Israeli Jews are lockstep in their political persuasion.

pretty much the proto-typical Republican response. Rather than bothering to actually read or listen to anything that doesn't reinforce their worldview and lay blame solely at the feet of everyone else, just pretend it's not happening and wish yourself back into 1944.

That explains why you can drive anywhere you want in the U.S. bible belt on shabbos and nobody throws a rock at your car. Well, at least not because it's shabbos.

    >>>

Look, I don’t want to be a party-line voter. It does Muslims no good to be identified with a single political party – we run the risk of being taken advantage of by the Democratic Party, while having our needs completely ignored by the Republicans. <<<

This is so true for many groups and is true if you reverse the parties!!!

Wow, one down, 85% to go!

I wonder if they'll just gravitate toward the Republicans next election by magic?

    Sounds like a plan!
