I do, but it's my company. My productivity has taken a big hit during the playoffs. I've got my priorities, and I'm afraid the job is trailing the field. If my boss only knew...
Nope, most of my 'net time is done at work. My home PC is so loaded up with Mrs.CTPF's crap that it takes too damn long for anything to load and it drives me nuts. We're somewhat of a seasonal business so in the off-periods I've got a good amount of time to fill, even if it could be better spent. My productivity has taken a big hit during the playoffs. I have definitely spent a lot of work time here this week. The boss knows about it too, and feels like giving me a swift kick in the butt for wasting so much time.
I'm self-employed, of course.

Your company knows how much you use the internet. I used to work in computer security. Monitoring software is basically free or comes with a firewall if they want to know exactly what sites you visiting and keep a log, and it is remarkably low cost if they want to sortably track you surfing over months. Companies almost never tell employees because they use it as a character check. As long as you are going to sports sites they are probably fine, but don't go to porn, racist, hate, anti-American sties, etc, and never never ever google "how to make a bomb" from your work computer.
Some people take smoke breaks, I take a patsfans.com break - like right now
Excellent point!
The smokers in my company probably waste at least an hour a day puffing their butts!
