My productivity has taken a big hit during the playoffs. I've got my priorities, and I'm afraid the job is trailing the field. If my boss only knew...

You got company BIG-TIME brother!

Half of my day was ruined yesterday and I promised myself that I will visit this site only during my lunch time. I have already broken it twice....:D

Your company knows how much you use the internet. I used to work in computer security. Monitoring software is basically free or comes with a firewall if they want to know exactly what sites you visiting and keep a log, and it is remarkably low cost if they want to sortably track you surfing over months. Companies almost never tell employees because they use it as a character check. As long as you are going to sports sites they are probably fine, but don't go to porn, racist, hate, anti-American sties, etc, and never never ever google "how to make a bomb" from your work computer.

No. You aren't.

My official answer is "Yes."

Some people take smoke breaks, I take a patsfans.com break - like right now :)

No....You're not alone :cool3:

Are you kidding? I rotate between this site & another NFL forum all the time. Most sports related sites are actually blocked, but this place is one of the few exceptions. *crosses fingers* :p

I have definitely spent a lot of work time here this week. The boss knows about it too, and feels like giving me a swift kick in the butt for wasting so much time.

I'm self-employed, of course.

I am on during work as well.
I try to resist but can't.

I do, but it's my company. ;)

Nope, most of my 'net time is done at work. My home PC is so loaded up with Mrs.CTPF's crap that it takes too damn long for anything to load and it drives me nuts. We're somewhat of a seasonal business so in the off-periods I've got a good amount of time to fill, even if it could be better spent. ;)

Being an officer in the company helps.

LMAO! Are there heated arguments about it, too? :)

All they know is that I send a lot of encrypted traffic over SSH.

Come playoff time, I too spend too much time here during the day.

Okay, that's kind of scary!

Guess I better stay off of "www.nakednazitalibanandcommunistchicks.com"!

Excellent point!

The smokers in my company probably waste at least an hour a day puffing their butts!

So my 4-5 hours a day surfing the net doesn't seem so bad, then, does it?

The worst was when I worked on the 96th floor. My lead developer was a smoker, and with the multiple elevator rides each way a "quick cigarette break" could take him half an hour easy.

I'm here during work too.

While I'm here, here's my two cents.

I have picked the Patriots to win all 13 of their playoff games in the Brady era. They are a special team and will go down in NFL history as such, however, I am picking the Colts to win this game.

Since the playoffs started I have spent more time reading posts on here then any work tasks. I'm just glad my company doesn't block this site like they do some other non-work related sites. GO PATS.
