I was sitting on 128 this morning on my way to work, and I realized something. I don't want the Pats to "just win" in the playoffs this year. I want destruction. I want them to obliterate and demoralize their opponents. Complete and utter dominance in all three phases of the game. Why? Several reasons: 1) I enjoy reading people talking about how unreal this team is. Selfish and useless, I know, but fun nonetheless. 2) So one day I can show all the saved newspapers and magazines I have accumulated this season to my kids. Show them what football in the highest level is. 3) The "Oh my f'ing god." Effect on other teams. I want our AFC Championship game opponent to look at our Divisional Game and crap themselves. I know Cindy won't put too much stake in a big win the week prior, but that stuff sticks in your head. "They put 50 on Jax?! Dang.". I want our superbowl opponent to look at the Indy game and feel fear. Then, they will open their mouths and give validation for my blind two week hatred of said NFC opponent. 4) It's hard to articulate why I don't just want W's...I guess I feel that this team has been genuinely disrespected. I know, I know, everyone's been saying what a great team they are blah, blah blah. But, for some reason I just feel like they don't get their dues. So, does anyone else feel this way? Am I a bad person for wanting to obliterate teams? Am I the only one who wants the G-Men beat so badly they pack in it before the Tampa Bay game? Do I need to switch to decaf?
