Can someone please explain to me how a state can, within the same year, produce the dumbest possible VP candidate imaginable and reelect Ted Stevens? Just what the hell is wrong with people up there? Did they legalize crack last year or something?

If Stevens ends up unable to serve then they can go through the replacement process, that's better than electing a Democrat who you are stuck with.

And if he doesn't end up unable to serve? Don't try to tell me that Alaskans were voting based on that rationale, these same people produced Sarah Palin also. Just punt to a totally dissimilar Biden gaffe like RW did, it's a much safer response.

I don't know too much about him other than his recent legal troubles. But given the situation with the Senate I would take almost any Republican right now to slow down the Democrat train.

So you would vote for a convicted felon probably heading to prison over a Democrat? My what interesting principles you have. Better to let corrupt criminals run the country than have someone possibly raise your taxes or whatever other irrational fears you have.....

By the way, I get YOUR rational behind the vote, your in favor of his predecessor and the concentration of power for the Dems, but I highly doubt that that was the reason for how Alaskans voted.

I also don't understand how Republicans who claim to care about earmarks and spending could prefer Stevens over any democrat.

I love the people who say Palin is a moron, and then expect you to take their whining seriously.

So the people of Alaska vote like the people of Florida's 23rd district. I, like you, will never be able to figure either out, since niether would ever get my vote.

The people in Missouri prefered a dead guy over a republican in 2000 if I remember right. When it comes to Coke or Pepsi, sanity goes out the window for some people.

Well if he goes to prison then he's not gonna be the Senator. It actually makes perfect sense to me. But the Dems getting to 60 last night was my worst fear so I'm a little biased.

I revised my post. I don't agree with your rationale, since I think that most Democrat platforms are good for the country (or better than the alternative), but they most certainly will have corruption problems in 2-4 years as power corrupts.

By the way, I don't even remotely like Biden. In fact, when I first moved o DC, I turned down a job in his office since I couldn't bare dealing with the ramifications of his daily bonehead comments instead of actual legislative issues. But Palin is on a whole other level since her gaffes are less to do with misspeaking and more to do with not knowing anything.

I think Gindal will go right past her although maybe not until 2016 depending on Obama's favorability ratings in 2010. If Stevens goes to jail, Palin should consider going for his Senate seat, she could get some real world experience out of Alaska and rebuild her new found lightweight image.

You know what, don't even answer this Wildo cuz the election is over, I'm tired of it already, and didn't even vote her Sarah Hotness to begin with.

Gone from the national stage, for now at least. You know what I meant when I rebuked your tactic of spinning rejection and critique of a stupid person with "whining." It flies in the face of basic logic that I would ever "whine" about someone who was instrumental in handing the election to Obama.

    Dumb:
Listen to Windbag Biden for a few minutes.

If Sarah was a Democrat MSNBC would be raising her to Sainthood, Obooma would have chosen her instead of Windbag Biden.

A good strategy to vote for Stevens knowing that he's going to jail. He'll be repalced by a republican, right?
