BAGHDAD - Radical Shiite cleric Muqtada al-Sadr could end a ban on his militia's activities because of rising anger over U.S. and Iraqi raids against his followers, an aide said Friday amid concerns about rising violence and clashes between rival factions in the mainly Shiite south.

Al-Sadr's call for a six-month cease-fire has been credited with a sharp drop in the number of bullet-riddled bodies, believed to be victims of Shiite death squads, that turn up on the streets of Iraq and are.

I was wondering when he would get pissed off ... he's next and he knows it. The Sunni's cooperated and are getting stronger ... Sadr is scared. He'll be dead before 2009 gets here.

The surge is working tremendously well. That's undeniable. Sadr has to decide if he's on the sign of the good guys, which he's been of late, or if he's going to give in to the SP's inside his militia that are threatening him for control. The security gains have fractured JAM, and Sadr has had some problems in reigning in the more extreme inside his group. Those are the people being targeted in the raids, and some members don't like it.

Very true jack ... but this guy will never coexist with the Sunni. He wants his own piece of the pie .. apparently he won't be getting it. Anyone who looks upon Sadr as a good guy is nuts ... he's killed many Americans to prove his points. Do you think it's okay to negotiate with someone who deliberatly killed our men?

This scumbag should have been killed 5 years ago..

Unfortunately he wields some power with his army and can turn promising surge results into chaos with resuming his violence....My point being all that has been accomplished in the time he has called a cease fire could be in jeapordy.

I find it funny how people think our government is oppressive, sinister, and Nazi, or the hand inside the puppet if you will. Yet, when it suits them, they think we should have murdered an Iraqi cleric 5 years ago, because he's hostile to the US invasion of Iraq. Funny how all that works. Had the US killed him years ago, I bet jack would be here saying how eeeeeeeevil we were for doing so.

Stupidity at it's greatest ...Sadr is great at stupidity... he does weild power and he could have done alot of good for his people ... but their thinking as we all know is about religion and there are no moderates in their view. You would think one of these guys would like to be great ... perhaps they already think they are.
