Press TV - Ahmadinejad calls for new world order

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has called for a new world order based on new ideas, saying the era of tyranny has come to a dead-end.

In an exclusive interview with Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB), Ahmadinejad noted that it is time to propose new ideologies for running the world.

He said the time of tyrannical regimes is over and arrogant powers can no longer proceed with business as usual since their capitalism-based economies are collapsing.

"Tyrannical regimes will not last forever and they will reach their end sooner or later," Ahmadinejad stated.

The president said people across the globe are fed up with the slogans of the arrogant powers.

He cited the widespread protests in countries like Iraq and Afghanistan, where he believes the major powers' policies are failing.

"Any civilization or empire that wants to impose its ideas on others through the use of force will reach its end in the near future," he said.

Iran can present new ideas and views, which the world will need in the future, he added.

The Iranian president stated that Israel's defeat in its Gaza offensive was the beginning of a new order in the world. "Now they are in disarray and new developments are unfolding."

Israel's 23-day offensive against Gaza, which ended on January 18, was condemned by the international community and caused divisions among major Israeli political parties.

Between the nationalist rhetoric that opened this thread and Shmessy's points, he sounds like a Iranian George Bush, why don't you love him?

    Let's test that theory Harry.

I'm an American Liberal. I don't like Ahmadinejad.

Any of you other Liberals like him? Dislike him? Let's get an idea if this just sounds good in Harry's mind, or whether there was some point in saying it.

    I doubt it.

I don't dislike him or like him. He doesn't matter despite the sabre rattling from the White House and Tel Aviv. He's an insignificant straw man politician who will be gone soon. What matters is how we conduct ourselves in the future.

I'd consider a lot of my views "liberal"... and I don't like a lot of the stuff he says. I also believe that the views of much of the Persian people are skewed by leadership on both sides.

All of the strife between nations is, in my opinion, prologue. To move on we need to understand that we are different, and its okay.

    PS
Those wern't Neo Cons that gave him a standing ovation at Columbia Univ, many of the real loony's seem to have a fondness for those third world scumbag dictators, the movie stars are always running down to Cuba to slobber over Castro and young Joe Kennedy flys his private Jet down to Kiss Chavez on the lips evey so often.

Fortunately it appears many Iranians do not share this guy's views.

It's just too bad that we decided to topple their democratically elected leader several decades ago, pissing them off when they found out. Iran could have been a pro-American strong ally, but instead our own actions resulted in an extremist religious faction of the population which has risen in the past several years in Iran

I take your point re: Mossadeq. We do know that the imposition of such a pro-American monarchy led in Iran to the rise of Khomeini. What we do not know is whether radical Shi'a Islam would have developed under another regime. In 1980, this was a no-brainer; but right now I wonder whether there was simply a subterranean tendency that would have expressed itself even were Iran non-aligned. Water under the bridge, as they say.

    he is simply a shill...

    nothing more, nothing less.

A NWO = absolutely a police state with NO freedoms and NO privacy.

    Do you really want this?

    This is their #1 goal.

The only way that you will live in a NWO system is to take the mark of the beast.

    FCUK NO...

I'd rather die on my feet than live on my knees...
