    These ###### phoney pandering dunder head two faced democrats.

    They just put God back into their platform after they were found to be getting killed on the issue. Same thing with the recognition of Jerusalem being the capital of Israel.

    If there wasn't an election involved they wouldn't change anything I'm glad they are exposing themselves for what they are left wing extremist .

    I told you these pinheads were going to overreach with their leftist ways and I was right.
    Wait till after tonight when the Aborta-palooza begins.

    Jesus they could not be any more out of touch or clueless to the American people then they are.

    I don't think they're running scared anymore than Romney is running scared. They are playing to win.

    Do you think the fact that the Republicans didn't mention the Tea Party once means they are running scared?

    I watched as CSPAN played the audio of the floor vote on amending the platform. It needed 2/3 but from the sounds of it, it didn't have it, might even have lost. So instead of asking for a roll call vote, they just gavelled it in and claimed it was 2/3 in favor. It would have been embarrassing to have it fail.
    I'm sure there is a link out there.....somewhere.

    I watched it too. Thee amazing part of it was the amount no's to yes's it was the same and they had to do it three times and then tried to say it was 2/3rds yea's. Which was crap and firmley back up the notion in my first post of how far extreme and unrecognizable the democratic party has become.

    You can talk about all the common flip flop crap played by both parties.

    This has to be the most blatant hypcricy in the history of politics.

    Democrats ... they were against God before they were for him/her.

    A "creator" isn't the same as "god," and Jefferson absolutely did not want "god" in government. If you knew anywhere near as much about the founders and our founding documents, you'd understand that.

    Do you want to have a discussion about the reasons to use that wording and what the founders believed, both personally when it came to religion and, much more importantly, their views of how they wanted god and religion to fit with the government they were framing?

    What do you think "Nature's God" means? Why do you think they said "Nature's God" rather than simply "God"?

    And bringing it back to my original comment and the topic here (re "God" in thr Dem platform), what role do you think Jefferson, Madison et. al. wanted "God" to play in our government and our politics?

    If the Republicans really respected other religions besides Christianity they wouldn't use the word "God," at all because that's not what all religions call their specific creator. And the really devout Jews don't ever say or even write the word.

    Seems like it would be UnAmerican to not believe in God given those numbers.

    That would kind of defeat the purpose of being America, wouldn't it? Seeing as how the entire country got it's start by people trying to find a place to practice (or not practice, as the case may be) the belief of their choice without interference.

    Yeah it is pandering, on both sides.

    There is a sliver of the population that's militantly atheist or agnostic. We have another sliver that's really civil libertarian about separation of church and state. Then we have the great bulk of people who are going to stroke out that "God's not in your platform nyah nyah nyah," or stroke out and put it in there after the big whoopsie.

    God can take care of Himself, fellas.

    As to Jerusalem: it's nuts. We have two parties yammering about symbolically recognizing the capital being Jerusalem. But whoops, U.S. policy is still that the capital's Tel Aviv, isn't it? If Jerusalem's a done deal, we kind of have a problem with ever engaging the Palestinians. I've thought for a long time it needs to be an international city open to all faiths, so that it's possible that the three religions that claim it can practice peace, like they all preach.
