Slater is going to the Pro bowl? for what? seriously.

Simple, NOT touching the ball~! Isnt this his first year without a COSTLY fumble? Shoot, throw him in the PRO BOWL!

he was voted in by the players and coachs for being one of the best ST players in the NFL

Amen.

The problem is that in most people's minds, "special teams" means "return man."

Slater wasn't drafted to be a Devin Hester, he was drafted to be a Larry Izzo.

For being the best special teams player in the AFC. Is that not a good enough reason for you?

Hey — how about Zoltan Mesko as a guy who has quietly had a good year? Bedard at the Globe mentioned he could be in line to be named as an alternate (though the team hopes to be busy that week). And Reiss posted some good stats from ESPN research folks. Wonder how many many fans realize he's third in the NFL — 1st in the AFC — in net punting average. He's also done very well at avoiding touchbacks (only 1 in his last 39 punts).
