The trade deadline has just passed. Oh well, I'm sure he can be pretty useful somehow for the rest of the year. Then just cut him next year.

Lesson learned for BB, I guess.

I think he sounds like a guy who got benched and wants to look forward.

He can move forward, backwards, side to side...whatever. The guy needs to produce or he will always be known as the biggest bust of Bioli era. Even Rosie Colvin turned it around after a major injury. Adalius is in the prime of his career. If he can't make it happen now, I can't imagine him having a place in the league with that salary.

"Ask Bill. He has all the answers."

Certainly doesn't sound like someone ready to "move forward". I agree, it will liekly be his last season here.

I heard his sound bites on WEEI and he seemed to talk the company line. He voice did not sound angry about his being inactive and he sounded as if he wanted to move on.

I think he was irritated about answering the dumb questions.

I don't know if he has lost it or not? I do remember Vincent Brown playing like a Pro Bowler one year and being out of the NFL the next. It does seem that when LB's start to lose it, it does happen fast.

Not saying that that's the case with AD and I hope not.

how does it sound to the eyes?

Of course he said a whole lot of other things as well aside from that one quip. No doubt he isn't happy about being benched, no one wants to be benched. But it's a big leap to say that is sounding like he wants out of here.

Really? Bigger bust than Chad Jackson, Monty Biesel, Chad Brown, Bethel Johnson, Duane Starks, and Deltha O'Neal? Those guys were signed for less money, but they were never productive for the Pats. Thomas, overpaid or not, has made some major plays for us over the years.

Ok, let me restate that, Robin (or Albert or Vicky whichever you prefer):
He was the biggest free agency bust of the Bioli era. I agree that Biesel, Starks, and O'Neal sucked...but they were brought in cheap. Thomas came into that offseason as perhaps the biggest target in the FA market...I think we all expected more than the occasional flash of talent.

Are those who believe that we got reasonable value for what we have paid Thomas?

Of course, for most of us, the question is the REASON for the poor value. One can blame belichick's judgement, the attitude and willingness to play of Thomas, or one can blame injuries.

For THIS YEAR's lack of production, the answer seems to be a combination of the three.

Nope, he wasn't that either. You can say he's underperformed if you want (he obviously has), but he's still been a major contributor to a SB team, and probably would have been the MVP of the SB if we'd won. He's a versatile LB who is actually pretty good at what he does. There are a lot of Pats' FA signings that you can't even come close to saying that about. O'Neal and Biesel were both brought in to start on teams with Super Bowl aspirations, and it turned out that they were terrible players. Adalius is, at worst, an above-average linebacker.

If Adalius could keep the intensity level up as high as he did when he tackled both Favre and Washington along for the ride in week 2 of 2008 he would be our All-Pro,unfortunately his play and for what type of money he is making is far from consistent, dissapointing is the correct wording here.
