We have already made decisions on our ERFA's and Practice Squad players. (I forget, has Arrington signed yet? Contracts have been signed. The open question is who else will be signed by March 3rd when the season ends.
    ================================================== =====

    1) FRANCHISE AND TRANSITION PLAYERS
a franchise tag for Mankins and a transition tag for Light is one option

    2) RESTRICTED FREE AGENTS
the team will tender Green-Ellis and Barrett (the only question is how high).

    3) UNRESTRICTED FREE AGENTS
The open question is how many of these will sign deals without going out into free agency and seeing their options.
    Faulk
    Graham
    McGowan
    Morris
    Ojinnaka
    Page
    Taylor
    Warren
    White

Didn't the Pats give Guyton an over slot value deal when his deal came up. Maybe Arrington thinks he deserves that deal as well. I think he earned it and he won't break the bank.

Yeah, the team gave Guyton a good deal. He could have been forced to sign for $470K, but they gave him a 2-year, $2.155M deal.

I agree, I think Arrington has earned it and I think the team will give him a fair deal as well.

Yeah I think Arrington has showed enough to merit a Guyton type deal.
I expect us to tag Mankins.
Maybe we'll let Light walk, I'm just not sure what to do about him.
He's above average overall but with obvious flaws that makes him a liability in pass protection at times.
Vollmer imo is ready to step in and start at LT now. But who are we going to slot at RT, Kaczur?
It just seems that's a step forward at LT but a step backwards at RT as well.

This is not going to be a popular prediction, but I would be willing to bet
that we give BJGE a 2nd round tender.

I made the same prediction last year on Ghost when everyone said that he
would get a 1st round tender.

    Only time will tell....

I don't see how that could be considered unrealistic. BGE performed well for us this season in our scheme, but I think most personnel guys around the league realize that he has his limitations and might not do as well their schemes. It seems highly doubtful that there are any teams so enamored of BGE that they'd actually give up a 2nd rounder for him. If so, though, fine - we could use it on an OLB or OG in the second and then pick up Daniel Thomas in the 3rd.

    Faulk
    - probably offered another 1-yr "courtesy contract", if nothing else; maybe he retires during camp

Graham - unlikely to be offered, no longer needed (we hope)
McGowan - unlikely to be offered, Chung does the same things, but better
Morris - possibly offered a 1-yr "camp deal" for ST/FB duties, but expendable
Ojinnaka - possibly offered a 1-yr "camp deal", but expendable if our draft picks look good

Page - possibly gets a fairly low-ball 2-yr offer that he might well turn down
    Taylor - probably retires

Warren - probably another 1-yr deal; smart, versatile vet who's played okay for us and who could help bring new guys along
White - possibly another 1-yr deal; might get replaced in camp by someone who's just as good on ST and who actually plays a position; OTOH, having a guy whose exclusive focus is ST is probably a good thing (same with Slater, really)

I agree with most of your options, but for this one. I think White has earned himself a two or three year extension with a decent low 6 figure signing bonus. He's taking the Izzo/Aiken slot, and that is a full time job on the Patriots. And he has done it well.

So, for you, these players are all throwaway jags. I disagree.

I defeintely want to keep Page, Warren and White. I would offer them all market-level 3 year contracts.

Actually, that's more along the lines of what I'd like to see happen, I'm just not all that certain it will.

Not at all. This doesn't represent what I'd prefer, just what seems to me likely to transpire.

I'm the samewith page warren and white... but personally i like to add morris into that. he was a good speacial teamer for us and did the job at fullback and can fill in at RB... thats alot of versatility for one player.

For me, we keep only one of Faulk or Morris. I'm fine either way.

Are we expecting a large or small FA class this year? Are teams less likely to re-sign their own FA's until they see what the CBA looks like or will teams sign as much of their own as they can, anticipating a short preseason, once the CBA is signed?
