I almost forgot that part of a Presidency.

Guess you guys didn't notice the G20 was meeting or something. Now run along to NewsCrack or FauxNews.com or somewhere and get the obligatory right wing spin.

For the week or two before the summit all we heard was how irreparable the rift was between the US and European approaches. Badda bing badda boom, nobody walks out, the world has accepted stimulus alongside their favored approach of stronger regulation going forward, and they're back to jostling for photo ops with the NEW face of America.

And oh joy, more face time at NATO's birthday party.

The whole wide world might not love us, but it's good not to be spatting with your ALLIES.

It's a fair point........ but lets see WHAT ACTUALLY transpires. This was high in rhetoric and photo ops (as they always are), and the appearance is that the framework is in place for some good progress (so long as everyone follows through). The real test is in what's done when they all go home. when Russia pulls it troops out of Georgia, then I'll stand up and applaud.

I will say, this was probably one of the "better" Obama showings. So far, he blundered his way through the last 60+ days, but he appeared to do better this trip.

No need to get cranky and defensive, PFnVA. :D I've been following things over here. The G20 went well for Obama, ipod and queen-hugging notwithstanding. ;) I just finished watching Obama give a speech at Strasbourg and it went very well; he's loved by the young Europeans. He articulated many things I believe are good for America, good for America-Europe relations, good for the world: building peace through sharing responsibility; cooperation, standing up to malevolent ideologies and forces; aiding and helping build up under-developed peoples. I believe Obama's heart is in the right place, just as I pretty much always have; he's proving out well so far.

Let's keep our prayers going for him and for the U.S., and we'll be better for it, the whole world will be better off.

What, you're doing a Shmessy redux, too??

No big mysteries here. I've always had an open mind about Obama. Check the record. I was willing to listen to him two years ago, or whenever he first declared his candidacy. He's pretty smart, he's pretty sincere, he has good self-control, he isn't an angry black man (see: Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, et. al.). Now, if he can keep it up, I think he will be good to very good for America and the world. His challenge will be to keep the high moral ground, not get seduced. Hope he can do it.

You're going to slip up and act this way on the street with somebody, and it's going to be the end of you. You'd best be careful.

You are more likely to do that than I ever will be, have never made a mistake like that, Big Buck comments did not resonate all that well..

Charles Barkley doesn't make the big bucks as a pro athlete and TV commentator???? Tell us another one. And it's too bad if you can't "resonate" with it. Sicko.

Good thing Obama has far more class than you ever will. In fact, you make him look better and better every day.

I'll say it again: you're going to say the wrong thing in real life some time and somebody isn't going to like it. We won't be seeing you here anymore. Ah, well.

I love it when the Reverend shares his theology with us. Is this a central tenet of Moonie-ism, Foggy?

So Obama goes to Europe AND AGREES with the Europeans that this is all America's fault, and you call that a dipolmatic sucess?

Have you ever seen a more narcisistic thing in your life than the guy giving the Queen an ipod filled with his speeches?

Not at all, I still serve on the Bill Clinton standard of conduct, so I will be getting my two raises a year, every year........
