How Did You Like It
The games National Anthem
Eh, it was mediocre. Tyler works best when he is trying to screech and yell but I honestly just don't think he's that good of an actual singer.
Wasn't that good but better than Rosanne Barr(stool)'s version! Rosanne should have been ejected from that stadium kicked out of the country for her insult to Americans.
Maybe even stoned with fake rocks made of animal blubber....
I forgot all about that Sow Slob she was a disgusting pig that day but she got what she wanted "people talking about her" sick fat b!tch.
Horrible. Tyler's a rock star, not a singer, if that makes sense.
(I think he also screwed it up, didn't he?)
The chick who sang for the NFC game nailed it
Yes and Yes.
I dont think the national anthem should be "screamed" if that makes since (and I think that is what you are saying).
And yes, he missed one of the words at the end of one of the stanzas.
EDIT - That being said Boston radio this AM (98.5) was talking about how this doesnt even make Tyler's worst 5 renditions. I guess he did the Indy 500 recently and ended it with:
"....Annnnd the hooooome of the..........Indianapolis 500!"
What an ass hat. As a big time fan of "Classic Rock" I wish these bands, the Stones, the Who, Steven Tyler and the like would stop doing halftime shows/national anthems.
70 year old men rocking out in tight leather pants, and whatever the hell Steven was wearing yesterday, prolly worked in 1972, when these guys were in their heydays. They dont anymore.
Kristen Chenoweth -- she is a great singer. A little too "broadway" for my taste (her singing, not her ), but still very good.
no one cares.... since Marvin Gaye's version in 1982, the rest have all been awkard.
anyhow, here's a far more relevant question: ... what other country's anthem has rockets and bombs in the lyrics?
It was good enough ... I think he was chosen because the crowd would get going from him singing it.
Especially lately, maybe the last 5 years or more? it seems the national anthem's getting butchered one way or another-the Black Eyed Peas for ex.
I'm not sure if we're the only country with rockets and bombs in the lyrics but speaking of that, there used to be a youtube of napalm bombs dropping over Vietnam, video done to the tune of Jimi Hendrix' version of the anthem. His interpretation, given the times, was incredibly done, no matter your politics it was still an artistic achievement and very representative of the growing American sentiment at the time. Either way, at least it was real, far better and more heartfelt than some we've seen lately.
