If say the Pats lose on Sunday, Baltimore wins and Colts win.

The Pats would then actually want the Colts, Balt and Denver along with Pats winning out thus making everyone 12-4.

Colts win the South via tiebreaker or outright over Houston.

So then it goes to 4 way tiebreaker.

No team swept the others. So it goes to conference record.

1.Pats get #1 seed based on conference record 11-1
2. Baltimore #2 on conference record over Indy and Denver
3. Indy wins 3 based on common opponents vs Denver
4 Denver
5 Houston
6. Pitt/NYJ/Cincy

I know it is unlikely to end this way. But it is one of many

Nice tidbit, but I think there's a greater chance of getting hit by lightning.

Pats will get the #1 seed if they win out and the Colts are playing for the playoffs in week 17. The second scenario there is less likely.

I was talking about this yesterday while it is unlikely it is not that crazy to think 5 AFC teams could finsih 12-4.

I prefer the "Pats win out" scenario ;)

Me too. And actually rooting for the Colts to win out. Which would win the Colts the division
