I've read how the Pats are the 1st team to start a season winning their first 6 games by 17+ points.

Actually, the Pats are only the 3rd team since 1960 to win 6 straight games by 17+ points at any point in a season.

The others were the 1961 Packers and the 1999 Rams. Both those teams lost their next game, and eventually won the NFL title.

If the Pats beat the Dolphins by 17+ points, they will have the longest streak of 17+ point victories in a single season since 1960.

The Pats current overall regular season streak of 17+ point victories stands at 7, including last season's 40-23 victory over Tennessee.

Another interesting note about the Josh McDaniels and the Pats' offense: over the last 12 games, playoffs included, going back to last season, the Pats have scored 429 points, averaging 36 a game.

There sure are a bunch of interesting records and streaks out there.

Something that gets lost amongst all the (legitimate) love for the new WR is that in the last 6 games last year, after the Miami shutout, we averaged 33.8 PPG.

There is so much ammo out there for Indy. The Patriots are the new unstoppable darlings but the Colts are the champs and everyone's looking past them. Major motivation for them just as it was a few years ago for the Pats when the roles were reversed.

That's (at least) matched by the Patriots' walking back onto the same field that they last walked off with such bitter, bitter disappointment.

Patriots are the SECOND team to do this. The aforementioned 1999 Rams had their streak to start a season.

The Patriots, BTW, have won SEVEN straight games by 17 points. We defeated the Titans 40-23 to finish the regular season last year.

Post season appearances are usually not considered as having a positive or negative effect on streaks. (This usually works against us). Thus the NFL record for consecutive wins is 18 by the 2003-2004 Patriots (not 21). If we go 16-0 this season, we will extend that record to 19 games.
