1. Earlier in the week, ESPN had a poll on their website asking fans if their favorite team had won a Super Bowl in their lifetime. 45% said no. As tough as this loss is, we still have 3 titles in the last decade. Many fans out there are still hoping for #1, and some fans know that it probably won't be coming anytime soon. 2. I was texting a friend of mine (a Redskins and Texans fan) at times during the game. When the Giants got into FG range, he text me saying he can't even remember what it must feel like for me at that moment, his skins haven't been in the Super Bowl for 20 years. That's something to think about. 20 years without getting to enjoy the big game, and he's not nearly as bad off as other fanbases. We've enjoyed it 5 times this decade. Let's also not forget how his Texans looked like they could be a dangerous team before injuries had them limping into the playoffs with a slowed Andre Johnson and 3rd string rookie QB. 3. I'm sure this has been mentioned many times already but I'll say it again: this wasn't a team on its "last hurrah." Getting back to the Super Bowl will certainly be difficult, and there's no guarantee we'll make it back. However, this team is capable. It's not an old team. It's not a team packed with free agents and no cap space. We have the money to re-sign key players and bring in more. We have the draft picks to find players that can help us going forward. Whether we get back or not isn't the issue. It's simply nice to know that this wasn't our one and only chance.
