HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!!!!!

--Ahem. Pretty good game for the Pats. Double rainbow good.

--I was thinking this before the game, that this offense was looking like the best maybe I’d ever seen. Remember, the 2007 offense wasn’t the same the last few games of the season. But right now, with Brady playing as well/better than he’s ever played, the offensive line firing on all cylinders, and SO many weapons….it’s just hard to see how you stop it. The conversation on who Revis would cover—who cares? It made no difference how one receiver was covered. O'Brien has evolved nicely.

--My initial thought on this game was a Pats’ blowout, but for some reason I was buying into the idea of the game being close as it moved closer. (Divisional games ARE close a lot, so maybe that’s logical.) Scary how close this was to another 59-0 game.

--Hate when Brady’s out there for the last couple of plays, but that’s just paranoia talking I guess.

--Pats were amazing, no question. But Sanchez was truly horrible. Thought he was better than that by this point.

--Looked at the Jets’ boards, couldn’t help it. Apparently it’s time for a new coach in NY. Man.

--OK, so it was essentially a perfect game, but in the spirit of the few maybe miscues I remember:

--Dane Fletcher had a fumble recovered, and somehow didn’t hold onto it.

--Couple of missteps on the first drive—seemed to be some clumsiness in a handoff to BJGE, and then another play where Brady had to just throw it away when BJGE I guessed zigged when he should have zagged. After that play, Branch dropped a ball in his hands, and the Pats had to settle for the FG. Which was huge, of course.

--Pats had a short kickoff (I mean, really short) at one point, announcer said it was intentional. If so, I don’t see the point.

--Speaking of announcers, they got Pats’ names wrong more than once….Deion Butler, Ty Warren, etc. C’mon guys.

--Brady looked like a vampire in his postgame press conference. I’m sure there’s a joke in there somewhere.

My two favorite things in football happened in this game:

    1. The Patriots won.

    2. The Jets lost.

3 punts and one FG... coulda been 70-3!

Maybe we can look at the tape and tighten things up a bit for next time. /sarcasm

In the last two years the Jets have been the most overhyped team in football, perhaps even in football history. Yet the combination of them believing the hype, and an easy schedule, and lots of luck made them start to actually seem like that mythical team in the headlines so yeah I was expecting them to put up a fight at least.

Of course I have been saying all season that the Pats lost the first Jets game for one reason only....Randy Moss...

Yeah, they should poll the players again about "which coach would you rather play for?" I'm guessing not so many are anxious to go eat cheeseburgers w/Rex now.

Hey, this is fun--Tomlinson celebrating his one & only 1st down of the game. Heh. (Hat tip Simmons).

YouTube - Tomlinson celebrates a first down

Other highlights today? Jets upset the Pats mocked their "airplane" dance, and Rex "I'm going to kick your #@!" Ryan crying that the Pats kept playing the whole game.

    Ah....good times.

Here's what amazes me: this is a rebuilding year.

The Patriots' 45-man roster last night included 10 rookies. 10! And another 9 players in their 2nd year! That's a raw young roster that by all rights should be finding its footing and building toward the future. Instead, they went up against an all-star, win-now roster of veterans and were the more disciplined, focused football team.

Or to put it another way: this is a 10-2 team that hasn't even realized its full potential yet.

I haven't looked through all the threads but after the Colts/Steelers games lots of fans were talking about our 4th Quarter defense.....

BB showed tonight that in those games he was just making them waste time and move the ball down the field slowly keeping the ball in front of them....He kept the pressure up last night and showed that it isn't a lack of focus for the defense in the 4th Quarters and that the pats can play good D if they need to.....BB plays good situational defense although it almost bit us against the colts.....I like this style better where we just bury our opponents and don't give them any feeling of coming back.....

Yeah that was funny, but the worst was on the James Sanders pick, ESPN kept saying "Heres Josh Barrett with the interception"

That was a surprise, since Sanders had been "Sergio Brown" for most of the game.

I was thinking this very thing last night. Then I started thinking about the upcoming draft and the pile of early picks we have. If #12 stays upright this team looks scary good.

    Stadium moments

what i remember from Gillette last night.....

-- Bar Louies was SRO, with a line out the front when we got there at 5pm. we thought probably too many JEST fans had made the trip early we. inside ESPN had a private party that had a band playing for us. we managed to snag a table and had dinner, many rounds, waitress flirting etc....

-- Luckily got to go on the sideline before the game around 715pm. Finnagled our way over to the VIP section by the Pats with all the luxury box types. We really stood out all dressed for the elements in 5 layers of clothes and fur hats. All the ppl around us were dressed lightly for a nice evening inside :D. Some weird looks sent our way by a couple group leaders "who are those guys?" Got to see Tedy up close, Kraft. Why did he bring Trump along in his entourage.... The hair seemed pinned down in the back

-- Made it to our seats. Section 239 was ACTIVE. So many high-fives with the neighbors around us who we didnt know, but who were now our BEST FRIENDS. By the 3rd quarter, we were all tired from the adrenaline drop off, only high fiving for picks or TDs...which still kept coming. Our arms were tired hahaha

-- Fan Of The Year sitting in front of us in some kind of badger fur hat. He said he wasnt driving back to Pennsylvania tonight! :singing:

-- Some wonderful TD drives moving away from the lighthouse. Looking over Brady's shoulder, he sees Woodhead, he sees Welker, he sees Branch, and in each case, he delivers an accurate laser throw. The guy is just unconscious.

-- So many picks. Blurrey mob scenes, everyone jumping into each other.

-- Cheering after each phrase from Tedy Brew at half time. Whatever he said, it was AWESOME! Couldnt hear or remember much - something about Just look at the banners, I'm there....something like that!!! GO TEDY

-- So many people leaving / left early in the 4th to get to work tomorrow. Weird to have no lines for food drink drain with 10 min left in the 4th. At least we can now stand the rest of the game since no one behind us. Broke out the nip bottles to warm up!

-- Happy happy crowd filing out...still a BIG crowd, packed going thru the exits and out toward Patriots Place. Route 1 a mess but who cares. Some jawing with some NY slobs who are burning a fire in a trash can. They shouting back with their Brooklyn accents. We say "Next time, bring your varsity team". They say "Next toime, bring yur muddah".

-- got home around 1:30pm, couldnt sleep, had to read Reiss.

Good times. Gotta love the big games this year: Ravens, Colts, Jets. Entertainment at its finest, dude.

    -- FRITZ

According to Belichick, the defense didn't change in the 4th quarter of those games, just the results. Not sure if I've seen that addressed definitively.

This was done in WINDY conditions too. Y'all saw Graham and Folk's FG's, That ball was being pushed around like nothing. Even in 2007 we never handled a team quite like this, at least no winning teams... let alone in inclimate conditions. One of the most impressive performances I've watched, ever.

Ever since the fiasco in Cleveland, the offensive play calling has been superb. The Pittsburgh gameplan was outstanding...one of the best in recent memory. I wasn't sure if that gameplan would work well vs. a man-coverage secondary like NY (Pittsburgh likes zones which Brady picks apart). Guess there was nothing to be concerned about.

I did a double-take upon seeing that the Jets ran for 150yds last night. Teams that rush for that many usually are the ones putting up 45, not 3. Great job by the Pats D in supressing the one stat that ultimately counts: points.

    Regards,
    Chris
