Jason David,Roy Williams were able to come back after this injury - I think McFadden from Pittsburgh was another who returned 4-5 weeks after breaking their forearm

Could be the reason Adalius is not yet on IR - Maybe surgery is not necessary

Roy Williams unfortunately ended up on IR after reinjuring it a week later

Keep your fingers crossed - We still might see the big guy come back as an early Christmas present come 3rd week of december

doesn't he need surgery? which means the fracture might ahve been displaced?

All speculation right now - Until we hear from BB think positive he could be back in week 14 when the games become do or die

hey i hope you were right. i also hoped ty law woould make it back when he broke his foot. i think somehow this team finds a way to get things done.

heck mayo had a nice inside blitz sunday where he drilled edwards.

I think we might see guyton and mayo do a little outside pass rush at times.

semour still needs to be a force like he's been.

    No Jersey Selected

Didn't Rod Woodson injure his knee very early in the '95 season, then beg Cowher not to IR him so he could return in time for the POs, and ended up playing in the SB?

If there is any chance that AT can recover in < 2 months, then I say keep him on the 53, and IR Alexander instead.

    that was an acl.

at least with a forearm it's a bone, who knows how severe. juniors was nasty 2 yrs ago.

i do hope they let him heal up and not IR him.

typically they IR guys(starters) on monday(brady) or tuesday(rodney)

If this guy had surgery, I think it's whacked to hold out hope for his return. There are only 7 weeks left. Plus, what kind of game shape would he be in, and how many hits would it take before his arm fell off? Are you guys the same ones that held out hope for brady's return?

Couldn't possibly as bad as Juniors. Remember how you could see it bent wrong on TV? Gross. AD played another quarter or so with it, so I doubt it's horrendous structural damage like Juniors.

Historically the Pats move quickly to replace someone they are certain is done for the season. The delay on Thomas raises the possibility they aren't sure it is season-ending. Only other logical possibility is that they couldn't use the roster spot anyway given it's only 4 days before the Jets, so why deal with it at all.

He'll be on IR soon... BB doesn't waste roster spots.

that makes me wonder why there are rumors of surgery.

    #24 Jersey

I think he'd be on IR already if it was a sure thing that he could not come back. I've heard this type of injury described as a two month recovery before. Unless his injury is particularly severe, he could play in January. I'd think if it were that severe, he'd be on IR already.

I agree. I did some checking online, and read that a broken forearm should heal in 4 to 8 weeks, depending on the severity. I think if the team has other injuries on Thursday, they might not be able to hold out on putting him on IR. Otherwise, I bet they do hold out on busting a move to IR.

    #15 Jersey

I was thinking the opposite (tho, its early and I'm still on my first coffee). This year, Harrison, Maroney, Brady, seems they waited. Way back when, there was Ty Law where we waited forever. I know there's a few others I'm forgetting, or maybe as a fan I'm am always anxious to get information that minutes seem like days.

    Disable Jersey

    Bingo! (Troy Brown week, heh)

Why rush a decision when there is no hurry this week? I do agree that some past IR decisions have seemed precipitous, possibly a result of BB's notable focus on the NEXT GAME. I'm not sure that some past injuries might not have healed by mid-Jan playoffs. Were this season to extend, wouldn't the Pats be glad to have an AD skilled player back by say, the 2nd week of playoffs?

Should we (shoot me for saying it) lose to the Jets and thereby make winning the division more at risk, BB may give in to the impulse of adding some rehab JAG to the 53 in order to max out chances to win a game.

It depends on how bad it is broken. If It needs surgery, I think he is done. If it doesn't, he could be back in a few weeks to a month or so. They can wrap the thing pretty well.

Presumably Redd will get reps next week and if it goes well, someone will be IR'ed to make room. If not, nothing happens. No sense dealing with the paperwork if there's no one to fill the spot.

Look at the benefit we got (at least briefly) from getting a PUP back.

Yeah, WTF is up with Neal? Is it the same knee he injured in the SB?
