Obviously we don't really know everybody's injury situation, but unless I'm missing something it appears that the Pats are starting the season with:

6 WRs, 4 of them healthy
2 pass-catching TEs, 1 healthy
1 RB who is a no-apologies WR if he splits out (Faulk)

Makes sense to me.

53 man roster but only 45 dress for the games. At this point you could look at the mix of Gaffney, Caldwell and Washington as "Hamstring Insurance".

We will know which reciever will get cut, if and when Chad Jackson, and Troy Brown could come back..

Well, obviously, things will change over the course of the season.

E.g., with enough injuries one of the shadow-roster TEs might be needed.

I was just talking about the early-season situation.

In other news, the first roster slot opened up for the PUPers goes to Seymour, just one one many factors affecting whether it will be practical to carry 6 WRs after midseason. (I think it will, just because of the talent level in the top 8 and the relatively thinness at TE.)
