With the Patriots less than stellar performance in their home loss to the Arizona Cardinals, all comparisons to the 2007 team should officially end.

Furthermore, I think this loss and the unpredictable nature of the NFL should actually give us more of an appreciation for the 2007 team. We downplayed games that they should have won (and did win), but really no game is a 'gimme'. The fact that they went 16-0 was a tremendous accomplishment. All comparisons to this team should end.

EDIT: changed thread title to "END OF 2007 Comparisons". The original "RIP" had a bad taste after seeing the Steve Sabol thread.

Springing Moss and Welker on an unsuspecting league was almost unfair. But, the laegue (at least the better defenses) did catch up. In the playoffs the pats were a dink and dunk team that struggled to score. This offensive unit, with everybody healthy, could be more difficult to defend when all is said and done.

This weak-ass OL will never allow this offense to fully realize its potential, which was never as high
as others thought it was, anyway.
And without another WR whom the opponent respects, we will continue to see the middle of the field
flooded with defenders.
So if Brady cannot hit a covered receiver in stride, he is a sack waiting to happen.

Let me take one last shot:

2007: 18 - 1
2012: 18 - 1

2007 - Better start.
2012 - Better ending.

of course this team wont be like 07...that team was amazing with a WR that could do what he wanted when he wanted
