Fun Facts From The Broncos-Patriots Games
also Tebow vs Brady
Tim Tebow Vs. Tom Brady
I cant believe ppl are comparing brady and tebow, common man! thats an insult to football fans intelligence everywhere...
Wait, on Tebow vs. Brady...
Tebow has 9 starts, 1300 yds, 11 tds,and 7 wins by a total of 37 points,
and Tebow is tied in the the two minute drill?
Tim Tebow Vs. Tom Brady
this is why i can't stand tebow...the media ruined him..he is now somehow on the same level as brady to some...look at those BS stats they post on ESPN and such
This won't last. This is hand in hand with the republican primarys. I like that Gronk has more TDs then all the Denver receivers put together.
"Brady's just a game manager!"
Sounds not much different from the Tebow bashing, to me.
For some reason folks need a savior, particularly those who play the victim card..
Imagine if a devout catholic QB was on the sideline with a priest praying before a game..
Imagine if a orthodox Jew QB would not practice/play on the sabbath..
Imagine Steve Young professing his mormon faith on the sidelines or everytime he made a public appearance...
It is completely out of whack, taking nothing from Tebow he is what he is a pretty good quarterback.. but this whole underlying theme of good vs. evil is a lot over the edge.
There are a lot of very religious football players who do not use that forum as a pulpit to preach their views..
Framing it as Tebow vs. Brady, is absolute idiocy.. and a function of bored idle press.
Just the oposite. Tebow truly is a system QB.
Let's see Brady run the option....
I don't think anyone has ever questioned Brady's accuracy as an NFL QB once he took over for Drew.
Timtebow is 7-1 as a starter this year. In those games, the Broncos are +2 in net points.
Brady is 6-2 in his last 8 starts. In those games, the Pats are +76 in net points.
Sure they did, although it was about his deep ball accuracy and ability to throw deep at all.
I edited my post to account for the college scouting reports, which proved false on Brady.
So far, not a single scouting report on Tebow from college has proven false. Everything we knew about him has panned out exactly as one would've expected. He still can't throw, but he's still a leader - and effective as a running QB or option QB.
Did people think he'd be 7-1 this year as a starter? No. But has his play been different than the scouting reports that followed him into the pros? No.
As for Brady and the deep ball - that is one facet of his game that he worked on, and it has improved from when he took over as QB a decade ago.
Tebow's problem is the guy can't hit the simplest of NFL throws, not that he can't throw deep.
I can't believe that Brady is the oldest starting QB in the league. Time flies...
Tebow has shown the ability to hit the short pass, the medium pass and the deep pass. What Tebow has not yet shown is the ability to do that consistently. This should come as a surprise to nobody, however. QBs generally adjust to the league, as opposed to coming out as finished products.
John Elway was at 47.5% his first year
Manning was at 56.7% as a rookie. His last 9 years have all been at 66% +
Drew Brees is 10% higher this season than in his first full year.
Michael Vick's first 8 games (2 starts) had him at 44.2%. He was 62.6% last season
Aaron Rodgers, another QB who's throwing was questioned, is 6% higher this season than in his first full year, and that's after sitting for 3 years
Brady was a bit of an exception, throwing for 63.9% in his first 'full' season. He wouldn't match that again for 6 years.
As I've said before, I don't really care about Tebow, and I don't know if he'll be able to stay in the league as a starting QB. I do find, however, that people's bashing of Tebow has tended to expose prejudices on their part.
I'm afraid I would say it's more accurate that the SUPPORT of Tebow exposes biases on people's part.
If Tebow weren't a devout Christian, and so vocal about it, how big would his fanbase be going into the season, or going into last year's draft? I'll answer it for you - it'd be small.
Because successful college QBs with iffy NFL careers ahead of them are a dime a dozen.
There have been dozens of Tebows. And there'll be a dozen more. He could prove me wrong, and he could have a successful NFL career - but that's moot to my point. His fanbase was massive before he'd even won a game in the NFL.
I doubt there are many people out there who would root against a player b/c he's Christian. The majority of the NFL is Christian, and a huge chunk of them are vocal about it. Tebow just happens to be far more pious about it, and draws way more attention to it. It doesn't help that the media loves the story and tries to milk it for everything it is worth. Yet, there have been plenty of faithful and spiritual athletes before Tebow who have not been nearly as popular - and the cynical part of me thinks Tebow's popularity has other factors involved, but I won't go there for fear of derailing this thread.
I found this depressing and a reminder that the good times won't last forever. Sigh.
You couldn't be much further from the truth. However, since I wasn't talking about the religious prejudices, I'm not going to bother with this.
You mean the college option?
He has no speed since the knee injury.
Yes... Brady's a system QB.
