It's kind of cute that the righty loons think anything is different than it was under Bush.

What gets me is that the "Shrub" use to take months off at a time, and that was no big deal.

Financial Ruin was created under the Bush Presidency. More so, the Congress, and Politics Bush created, has made it impossible to change anything without Fox going crazy. No president from here on out will ever be able to do much of anything worth doing in order to save what we have created. Special Interests, and Big Business rule the day.

    I find this very vague.

I see some similarities to Bush politics. For example, Obama enacted the largest tax-cut in American history in the 09 stimulus package. Tax-cutting is an example of a popular Bushie policy that became unmoored from actual fiscal policy.

Then, people complained that Obama was changing things too much for a while. Now people are complaining that Obama is changing things too little. I'm pretty certain a lot of people complain that he changes both too much and too little simultaneously.

Most recently, there was a mis-timed effort (IMHO), to impose the necessary austerity measures called for to address our debt problem (you know, the one that everybody and his brother campaigned on? The one caused more by the policies of GW Bush than any other president?)

About 15 minutes later, the Dems and Republicans embraced a kumbayah moment and added a trillion dollars to the debt.

Republicans said refusing to pay your (already-accumulated) bills does not count, so even if the debt goes up from tax-cutting, it didn't really happen.

Dems said it's okay, we convinced Republicans to go for a stimulus package with lots that Dems want and lots that Republicans want -- but bottom line, we get a second stimulus out of the deal... even if far too much of it is to the rich.

But what's the constant? The constant is that tax cuts are a dug in and unassailable habit of mind among both Dems and Republicans.

That is the most enduring symbol of what has not changed, to me.

We've even moved up Social Security insolvency several years, by cutting payroll taxes -- while complaining about how "unsustainable" Social Security is.

The commitment to Iraq is dramatically scaled down. The action has moved to Afghanistan. This was the level of change Obama promised. This was the extent of change he could promise. Had another level of "change" happened, we'd complain he broke his promises. If he kept them, the change was not radical enough.

What would be a "good" change?

We are currently involved in job saving/creation etc. The old Greenspan ultra-low rates trick is currently even more pronounced under Bernanke. Money is incredibly cheap to borrow.

Do you guys want high interest rates/cost of borrowing, when a lack of liquidity was a prime mover of the 08 collapse? Will that not hurt anybody?

Do you want higher taxes? That would certainly be different from Bush.

Do you want unilateral withdrawl of all U.S. troops everywhere?

What exactly should Obama do to be sufficiently different from Bush? I mean, he's already gotten you that health care that was different from Bush not getting you health care. Shouldn't you be happy about that? He got you credit card reform that was different from the deregulatory approach under Bush. Aren't you happy with that?

Or is the game actually to say every change is bad, and simultaneously to complain that not enough has changed?

You can hold the gigantic Photoshop commentary.

    Righhht, bumper sticker length.

So, RW, since nothing has changed, no Obama policies should be opposed by the Republicans and their supporters.

Health care was an extension of Bush policies.

    Is this correct?
