There are some others that I think have a *chance* to stick (Woods, S. Thomas), but i'll go with your list:

Branch - Did not report list(?)
Pass - cut
Kaczur - PUP

Gorin
Sullivan
D. Davis
Warfield
C. Brown
Beisel
Gramatica

Leaves us a little young at LB, but maybe this is the year it gets done.

Bramlett ... Sullivan ... Gramatica ... Stevenson ... Kight ... Smith ... Davis.

Took a half year ... and counting.

(Dry, you really don't like Sullivan, do you ... cutting him twice?)

Maybe I should have taken 20 seconds instead.

Marquise Hill doesn't even make your top 60? I'd agree that he's on the bubble, but a lot of people would probably take him over at least one of Sullivan and Smith.

Why would you cut Pass instead of keeping him on the PUP?

It's quite obvious actually. It's because I didn't know he was on the PUP. Sheesh...!

Your 60 is heavily wieghted toward the defense.

Is that where the toughest final cuts will come from????

The bottom 15-10 of the current Patriots roster is extremely weak. Getting to 60 should not involve cutting any meat, just the fat.

I'd say there is about a .000000000000001 percent chance of this happening.

So they're going to keep Mruc, Yates, whoever, but cut Stevenson? Highly doubtful.

Agreed.

It's no secret the bottom-end roster guys are going to be special teamers, so why not have the best?

That's why Izzo, Davis, Gardner, and the rest will stick.

Youth is important, but we're not talking about cutting Lawrence Taylor here. Woods or Roach or Alexander (who has the best chance) wouldn't play much either.

Mgteich already cut Yates before his 60 even went to press.

But, sure, i'd keep Mruc ahead of Stevenson ... because of his postgraduate years under Dean Scarnecchia.
THIS year, Stevenson clears waivers and enrolls in that same academy for offensive linemen.

Bramlett (PS), Mrucz, Stevenson (PS), Gorin (trade), Izzo, Davis, Chad Brown (resigned as soon as healthy. Easy!
Also Add: Branch to FTRL, Hill to IR, Pass to PUP and and if necessary Kaczur to PUP.

Now why would that be? Both he and Gardner were ST mavens and long before they played for the Pats were considered to be very good ST players. One is 27 the other 29. Both are big enough and good enough to be getting regualr defensive snaps. Now why would you keep a 33 year old small slow guy, or a 33 old even smaller and less capable regular player?

You don't!!

But BB just might keep Don Davis because of his locker room leadership, before he joins the coaching staff next offseason ! And Davis unlike Izzo can take a snap or two as a legitimate pass coverage LB, and a former SB starter for the Rams. He certainly got a lot of regular snaps in the AZ game.

Because Izzo is a pro-bowl special teamer. You don't cut a pro-bowl special teamer this year at least. Age shouldn't factor into it. If age was a factor, and I'm assuming you're saying a 27 year and 29 year olf you should hold onto, then bethel would still be here. Why the heck would they have signed Seau? I think the number one assessment on keeping someone eventually is productivity, and Izzo has been productive on special teams. Beisel hasn't been productive as a linebacker. Why the heck is he working behing Gardner and Davis. That is a clue right there what Belichik thinks.

They keep Izzo becuase of being a special teamer, not a starting linebacker.

The operative word here is W-A-S a pro bowl ST selection. Davis had more ST team tackles than Larry did in 2005. Mike Stone who was here for less than 8 games had just one fewer than Larry did in less than half a season. Larry wasn't chosen for the pro bowl in 2005 and is living off a past reputation and is fading fast...

Its not like it would be breaking up an awesome ST group either. Last season they finished in the lower third of the league ratings there. Time for new blood?

So how does this strengthen your argument that Beisel is better? I was saying I see Beisel get cut before Izzo. Beisel is behind Davis and Gardner now....what does that say? The waterboy might be ahead of him on the depth chart.
