53 Man Roster Prediction - week of August 1

The 4th corner is certainly an open position, but Webster was the STARTER at the beginning of camp. Lewis Sanders has shown little.

I have Izzo as the last ST specialist. However, I agree than Spann could take that spot. I don't think so, but Spann is certainly a reasonable projection.

It doesn't seem that the 4th - or even 5th - CB is open at all. Hobbs, Bryant, Wheatley, Webster, Wilhite. The End.

If either Spann or Ventrone make the team as the 5th S/STer, ahead of CB/FS Lew Sanders, then Izzo is in big trouble, esp. if Woods, Guyton, Slater & Aiken also all make the team. I think that Alexander is toast, no matter how you slice it.

Do the CB rookies mean that Ty Law is for sure not happening?

I agree for the most part. In some cases I just don't know - like I think at QB one of the Matts will stay and one will go, but I don't know which.
When Brady takes a practice off, it is Cassel who works with the first team.

Gute is about to strain his shoulder and go on IR.

Well, thank you for being so gentle... how can i put this... the amazing Chad Jackson had 0 catches last year.
You guys are a hoot. A player rips an ACL in the AFCCG, a injury that usually takes a year, any you bust the guy for not producing for a year.

Unless Cassel throws 6 ints in his first game he will be handed the #2 spot just based on the fact Gutz has PS eligibility

If the goal is to have as many QB's under contract as possible, I suppose this makes sense. I think life is more simple. Gutierrez will be given his opportunities. If Gutierrez looks good enough, Cassel will be traded for a conditional 6th or whatever we can get for a player who last led a team in high school. Cassel is in the last year of his contract. There is no particular incentive to keep him.

true. It's got to give BB chills having two QBs on the 53 man roster with one attempt between them.

Agreed. The only way Cassie stays is if he is demonstrably better than Gutz. Otherwise why keep an underperforming guy in his contract year?

What about bringing in a disgruntled Aaron Rodgers?

Antwain Spann is becoming close to a lock.
