Big game this week, these Jaguars are no joke. Post your 5 keys to beating Jacksonville, here are mine:

    1. Play well on offense
    2. Play well on defense
    3. Coach well
    4. Special teams can't be underestimated
    5. Watch the turnovers

I firmly believe if we execute the 5 points above, we should be straight for Sunday.

^^ All excellent points. It's important we do not take the Jaguars lightly Sunday IMO. David Bernard is an amazing QB, that guy always comes to play. And Brady better be careful with Willie Nelson flying around in that secondary, #12 will have his hands full that I know.

Not to mention Nancy Jones-Drew, the pocket Venus, at RB.

All down to stopping MJD, I think. If Garrard beats us, we deserve to lose anyways.

On offense, their pass D has been suspect at best. Let's see if Edelman & Aiken can get open enough to free up Wes & RFM. Show us your shoulders, Randy.

I suspect BB has had the defense working on tackling drills all week. Missed tackles against MJD could be deadly.

Well the Jags are the worst team when it comes to getting pressure on the quarterback, 32nd in Negative Pass Plays%, and they are ranked 27th in Defensive Passer Rating (92.99).

So I expect Brady to have a field day.

that is about the most vanilla "keys to victory" ive ever read in my life. lol
its like John Madden wrote it.

"The key to winning a game in the NFL, is at the end of the game, you want to have a higher score then the other team. Its gonna be a difficult game to win if after the 4th quarter, the Jaguars have more points."

Here's a more serious/subtle take at some keys to victory:

    Defensive keys to victory:

    1. Tackling. MJD will get his yards, but we can't let him break tackles and break of big plays.

    2. Keep David Garrard in the pocket. Garrard is a bit like a poor man's Rothlisberger, he's big and hard to take down, and is at his most dangerous when he breaks outside of the pocket and creates big plays out of broken plays.

    Offensive keys to victory:

    3. Spread the ball around. Jacksonville doesn't have the playmakers on defense to stop our offense unless we get predictable.

    4. Run enough to keep them honest. Jax is 12th is rushing defense but 27th in passing defense. I don't expect to dominate the ground game, but we still have to run the ball enough to be effective. We can't just go with the spread offense and the shotgun all the time.

    Overall keys to victory:

    5. Be physical. Jacksonville is not a finesse team, and they won't surprise you. But they will beat you up. They are very physical, and the Pats need to match their physicality and intensity. Come out with a half-hearted effort, and we will get beat.

    Hope you like those better.

Hey, countless hours and research were put into my preview which I felt covered all the important keys to winning this showdown. And quite frankly I'm offended by your comment.

At least mayoclinic has posted a list, good to see some contributions aside from my own in-depth analysis.

Penalties. Jacksonville is the least penalized team in the league, so don't expect a repeat of the Buffalo game. If the Pats get more than 50 or 60 penalty yards it could make the game much more closer than it has to or should be.

#3 perplexes me, from my view logically it should be Ben Watson.. Aiken is ok, Edelman is ok.. but Watson is a proven commodity and cannot understand why is he is missing from this offense...

Good point, I didn't realize JAX was the least penalized team in the whole league. That's probably attributed to a lot of their close wins, etc.

The moment you said that, I had flash backs of James Sanders whiffing as Joseph Addai runs for a touchdown. Let's hope Brandon Meriweather cleans it up a bit and starts wrapping people up.
