Another fantastic season from arguably the best ever. 1 more ring ends the debate. Lets go Pats.

300 career TDs, tying John Elway is also quite an achievement.

You could say if the offense played 4 quarters every game :bricks:.

No other QB I'd rather have than TB.

    Something like 5450

Brees also broke his old completion % record.

... Really? He has Wes Welker who is statistically the best WR in the NFL and the Best Gronkowski, the best TE in the NFL.

I know, if he could have only had the WR who lead the league in catches and yards. Wait, um, uh?????????????
Strike that. If he could have had the TE that had the most receiving yards ever by a TE. Oh, hold on..

I have his jersey and love Brady, but 1 more ring puts him on par with Montana. Montana still has better playoff and Superbowl performances and is 4-0 in title games. All the passing stats since 2004 will be seen from a different lens. Drew Brees himself holds 2 of the 4 biggest single season passing yardage totals. In the 1980's you had 1 QB break 4000 yards a season whereas in 2011 there are 10 QB's.

Winning 5 Conf Championships and 4 SBs would not be a lesser accomplishment than winning 4 Conf Championships and 4 SBs
Losing earlier is not a feather in your cap.

    #12 Jersey

Calvin Johnson went off for 244 yards taking the yardage away from Wes.

Calvin Johnson, now that is a legit #1 wr. Wes is a bamf, but I'd rather my #1 wr catch deep balls rather than slants and in routes

    #12 Jersey

I've long argued that with people. So Warren Moon was a better playoff QB than Jim Kelly because he never lost a SB and Kelly lost four? Just stupid. I"ll never get that logic.

    #12 Jersey

I wasn't knocking Wes. Merely pointing out Johnson had a monster day to steal the yardage title from him. Johnson is a unique talent but Welker is tailor made for this offense.

1 more ring moves Brady past Montana IMO. Montana played with HoF's. Brady wins with journeymen.

    #12 Jersey

Even though the 2010 TD:INT ratio was incredible, you could argue this year being better than last. Statistically the worst pass defense in league history, according to Cris Carter [lol] the worst defense overall in league history, and the Pats are a #1 seed. To me this season all but seals the Brady-Manning debate, Brady has more rings AND he's single handedly put this team in contention for a few years now, which was probably the lone 'point' Manning backers held onto the middle of last decade.

Brady had a number of years throwing to journeymen, but you certainly can't say Moss, Welker, Gronk, Hernandez are journeymen.

I'm sure Welker leading the league in catches and Gronk leading all TE's in yards or TD's is a product of their talent alone, it has nothing to do with Brady.

If you don't think this offense is in dire need of talent at the wide receiver position (key word here being 'wide'), you aren't watching the games. What do the Saints and Packers have in common? Both offenses are filled with players who can stretch the field and threaten from the outside, being capable to beat press-man coverage. The Patriots don't have a single guy like that, and it might end up hurting them just like it did in last year's Jets game.

OK, so you'd rather have the best wideout in the league than the best slot receiver in the league. Fair enough. But how many wideouts NOT on the fast track for the Hall of Fame would you take over Welker?

New England is the only team in the NFL with 2 of the top 10 receivers in the league, AND the only team with 3 of the top 40 receivers. Sure, I'd welcome a Calvin Johnson with open arms, but there's no question this team has weapons.

Good talent, but they're not as gifted and athletic as say... Calvin Johnson, NO WRs and GB WRs. Most of their recievers have height advantage, they're deep threats and are very fast and athletic. I'm not saying Welker, Gronk and Hernandez are scrubs... I think they work harder for their yardage, making them better players IMO. But having recievers like the ones I listed above would make getting yardage stats much more easier for Brady.

I think the ones Brady have now, would work better against tougher Ds. But with the schedules of GB, NO and DET, I think Brady would do wonders with those finesse WRs those teams play with.

For all intents and purposes the Patriots offense is just as good as those 2.
I understand you like seeing it one way, but that does not make it better.
Referencing one game where Brady threw for 299 is a silly argument.
I guess if Brees had Brady's weapons they wouldn't have lost to a 7-9 team in the playoffs last year, so that proves the Saints have WR problems, right?

By the way Brady averages substantially more yard per completion (over 10% higher over an entire season) than Brees, so your point of stretching the field appears incorrect based upon fact.
