Assuming these are the given 49 players, there are four spots left on the team. If Branch doesn’t show up, I’m assuming we will get a WR pickup which would be the fifth spot.

I think the Pats might pick up a WR even if Branch does show up. Five is on the very low side of WR to carry.

I think on top of those players, we'll retain another linebacker, 2 additional offensive linemen and an additional defensive lineman or safety.

I agree.

I'm thinking an OT (Wesely Britt), a OG/OC, a DL (Klecko or Hill) and a FA LB (to replace Gardner).

If Chad Scott and Randall Gay can play safety, and Wilson can play CB -- we could be covered at DB with 9.

And of course, a WR to replace Branch if he doesn't show up.

5 is not a low number at all for WRs.

Many teams carry 5 WRs on their final roster. Most others carry 6. Only teams like the Raiders carry upwards of 7.

Besides, the #6 WR spot is usually reserved for a return guy. See: Bethel. Now see: Willie Andrews.

...

If Branch returns:

Branch
Brown
Caldwell
Jackson
Childress
(Andrews)

If Branch doesn't return:

Brown
Caldwell
Jackson
Childress
Kight
(Andrews)

That's what I mean. It is on the low side. It is the minimum. I would not be suprised if they got two more if Branch doesn't show up.

But I forgot about Andrews so maybe not. But I haven't heard anything about him being worked out as a WR since the Redskins or maybe even the Cardinals game.

Has Corey Mays made an impression with anyone? Maybe on ST?

Reiss did have at one point projected to go to the PS.

BTW, what are the odds Klecko makes it over Hill?

Two of the following: Billy Yates, Mruckowski, Stevenson and Britt probably will make the team.

Which leaves a FA spot for a LB.
And if Branch doesn't show up, a FA spot for a WR.

That's my guess.
