2015 NFL Mock Drafts

reiss in his mock has us taking phillip dorsett

The Pats have 9 picks and here is my binky lineup

1. Eddie Goldman DT - No chance for Marcus Peters, so I god for a bigger but slightly less explosive version of Vince. It's a time where need matches talent, neither a reach or steal.

2. Ali Marpet DT - at top offensive G talent, only risk is going to be how quickly he will be up to speed.

3a. Q Rollings CB - sleeper with huge upside

3b. Marcus Hardison - DT/DE - versatile, great motor, upside but raw

4a. D Johnson RB - Great combination of size and speed

4b. Nick Marshall CB - developmental CB with size and ST (Tony Lippett 6'3 Developmental CB plan B)

6a, 6b, 7a, 7b - This are all guys who fit into some combination of these categories injury issues,. character issues, small school, position changes. Make them real hit or miss shots because after the 4th round the likelihood of any of these 4 picks making anything other than the PS is a real long shot

I hope the latest mocks are wrong because they are pretty much wiping out the prospects I was hoping the Patriots would have a shot at. If they fall the way most are predicting I'm going to want them to trade down.

I hope we don't go DT in the first round. That is somehow the one pick that would make me irrationally angry. I am fine with almost everything else but somehow I can't see a (realistic) DT that is worth the first round pick.

It would indeed be irrational to be angry at the choice of a DL with our first pick.

I agree, I'm not liking the way things seem to be shaping up but if the offers to move down aren't good enough and they end up taking one of the DL I'll be fine with it. At this point Jordan Phillips is one of the few remaining prospects I think would be worth a first, but I would rather see them drop down and take guy like Xavier Cooper or Michel Bennett later.

Yup. That's what happens on Draft Day. Most understand that the blue chippers (and even the next group) that you wanted to fall to us are unlikely to fall.

IMHO, there are 11 blue-chippers and 12 red-chippers. In addition, there are 3 more that most have drafting in the top 20 or so. That's a total of 26. Even with a couple of "reaches", we are unlikely to have a top player available at 32.

The board at 26 might include these 20

DL - Goldman, Phillips, Jarrett
OLB/DE - Gregory, Harold, OO, Smith
CB - Rowe, Collins
OL - Fisher, Ogbuehi, Tomlinson
WR - Perriman, Agohlar, Strong, Smith, Dorsett
S - Randall
ILB - Thompson, Kendricks,
and the untouchables

AS AN ASIDE
So, 25 plus these 20 total 45. Green-Beckham and Ray might be drafted, giving us a total of 47 plus reaches.

This highlights who we might have available if we trade to below 50, perhaps NONE of the above.

What sucks is identifying prospects you really like early on that are available after they pick and watching them rise up to the point where there is no shot at them, which appears to be the case with Cameron Erving and most likely Byron Jones as well. On the other hand I think there is going to be a good deal of movement in the first and we could see some surprising picks and hopefully one of the better prospects will slip through.

I pretty much agree with the list you put out there and I'm going to revisit the rankings and mocks later and see what's going on and who could be there. I think my list of hopefuls is going to have to change quite a bit.

That would be great Tipp. I'm thinking trade-up for cb. R. Darby 64 and 128 for 52. La'el Collins at 96. Love the Davis and McBride picks.

New mock! Probably not picking another DT now. That changes things. Also BB basically started he wants to trade one of his 3 clustered picks in some way in his press conference.

-TRADE- #64 & #101 for #49 - Eric Rowe - CB (I can hope... maybe Darby and Collins are picked first and knock him down)

#96 - Tre Jackson - G
#97 - David Johnson - RB

Something like this and I will be happy with these 2 rounds.

I'm still bummed about about taking a wide-bodied run-plugger, though most websites had Brown
as one of the best, if not the best in some places, players available regardless of position.

We can all forget about Grady Jarrett or Marcus Hardison now.

#101 cannot be traded as a comp pick but I'd be fine with trading 64+96 to get Rowe.

The Patriots have a good shot at priority free agents if they are aggressive and willing to
spend their $80,000 in allotted bonus money.

To be fair, I didn't expect Brown to be there at #32 and didn't really want to trade up for him. I was more referring to players like Eddie Goldman. While Grady Jarrett now most probably can be erased from our boards, I am still not sure if the same can be said for Hardison. I still hope he slips we manage to get him on day 3.

O-line
This year we need some big bodies in O-line, cause AFC East has some nasty big dudes..
Verstaile guys like guard/center and LT/LG

LB
Mayo injury was really tough, i hope that he ll fully recover but...

DT
They will be playing heavy run game and we ll have some teams like Dallas, Denver, Eagles who ll have some nasty run game so we need another big run stopper.

CB
Revis and Browner was surprise to me, but after some thoughts i am fine with it. They added some depth with veterans and i guess more zone defense. So CB is more to develop than anything else.

My binkies are G Poutasi, CB/S Rowe, WR Smelter & DT Terry Williams or David Parry

I am ok with Brown pick, cause his age 21 and like his confidence that he ll be the best player ever drafted by pats.

Every year on day two BB&co draft a guy who has 6-7rd value.
I think that BB is not drinking much trough year and he he gets exited after SB and draft day one and he celebrates too much. He and Caserio party till the pick announcements and then they come just in time and mess their board and pick random guy.
I dont care if this guy becomes Pro bowler or the best safety ever. they could trade 2rd pick and grab him in 4th in the worst case scenario.
They could draft Lael collins and him. Cann, Owa....
I just hope that they ll get sober for today.
