2014 Draft Contact List

That's one of the reasons I'm pushing Albert Wilson is because he an all-purpose player with low draft value. He's really a great wide receiver but has experience lining up as running back---see Georgia State v Arkansas State on youtube at the 5:20 mark and third-leading rusher with 251 yards on just 24 carries (10.5 avg.). Plus, he has the physique to absorb contact. Also, he could contribute on special teams because I think he's a more natural kick returner than Boyce.

He could help fill multiple options for the pats.

He's been in a few of my mocks because I think he's a good fit for us.

@Dan_Hope: OSU QB Kenny Guiton told reporters he has one individual workout scheduled: #Patriots on March 26.

@OliverBThomas: Per @TonyPauline, the Patriots showed interest in 6'5", 250-pound tight end Blake Annen at Cincinnati's pro day on Thursday.

Mackenzie. do you know anything about him?

Edit: ran a 4.4 second 40 apparently.

I glad to hear this type of back is on the pats' radar. I think an overlooked problem on offense from last season was the loss of Vereen for a significant amount of time. We just simply didn't have an adequate backup with Vereen's skills to shoulder the load.

That WoodHead guy with San Diego is pretty good.

Gosh, I wish we could get Players like that. :nooo:

I love Mad Bill, but how difficult is the concept of Depth of Talent to perceive??

Its absence has cost us multiple Championships.

I think the intention was that Leon Washington was supposed to be the backup, and add value by being the kick returner -- which is why they let Woodhead go since he would have been the backup in 2013 but wasn't a good kick returner. Obviously that didn't work out as planned.

If that was the Plan ~ and many have suggested just that ~ then it was an incredibly stupid Plan.

I've always loved Washington, but his Time had clearly come and gone 3 Years before we signed'm.

I hear that Kevin Faulk kid from LSU is pretty good. He might make a good backup to Vereen.

@DougKyedNESN: BC OT Matt Patchan says he's spent time with Patriots scouts through the Senior Bowl and combine.

Very much the prototypical Patriot OT.

And Kevin Pierre-Louis said he spoke to the Patriots' scouts about playing special teams.

I'm surprised that this was missed...looking at you Mayo :) .....

@PatriotsHaven: RT @Gil_Brandt: #Montana LBs Jordan Tripp and Brook Coyle worked out today for #Patriots. Good players who would fit system.

New England Patriots presently working out Robert Herron 1-on-1 at Wyoming pro-day...

https://twitter.com/TonyPauline/status/444183837783126016

I'm a fan of Herron who ran a 4.48 at the combine but was timed in the 4.2's at his pro day.

There were reportedly 15 teams in attendance at Wyoming's pro day on Thursday, and wide receiver Robert Herron was a scene-stealer, with Benjamin Allbright reporting that he clock Herron at 4.25 and 4.29 in the 40-yard dash. The Wyoming receiver also had "natural hands" according to Allbright, and that could signal a rise up the draft boards for Herron.

QB Connor Shaw

It looks like the pats will invest in a backup quarterback this year after two years without even having one on the practice squad.

Whether Mallet gets traded before or after the draft and with his contract ending this year, we need a third quarterback in training camp since Tebow isn't around anymore.

I still have a sneaky feeling they'll take another look at Tebow. Just a hunch, nothing more.

Nikita Whitlock, who lined up at nose tackle for the Demon Deacons, stole the show. He measured 5096/251lbs, touched 33 inches in the vertical jump, timed 4.74s in the forty, 6.90s in the three cone and 11.67 in the 60-yd shuttle. Whitlock also pushed up 43 reps on the bench. His arm length was an 1/8-inch under 32, so that number represents a terrific mark. Afterward Whitlock worked out at both outside linebacker and fullback drills. I'm told he looked terrific catching the ball. Take note; three running back coaches have inquired about Whitlock the past 10 days and tomorrow the New England Patriots will be working him out. Historically, the Pats have had huge success taking college defensive linemen who don't measure up size wise then moving them to other positions.

Interesting. Not sure where he fits.

I must have "tripped up" on that one.:p

Interesting that Havens called Tripp a "system fit". 234# LB who can play inside or out, go sideline to sideline, come off the edge, and drop into coverage. The times, they are a changing.

Arizona CB Shaquille Richardson worked out for #Patriots Monday; has #Dolphins Wed., #Chiefs Fri.; visits scheduled w #Steelers, #Cardinals.

Edit: From a Shrine Game report:

Arizona CB Shaquille Richardson has been one of the most impressive corners on the field this week. He has consistently made plays on the ball in 1-on-1 drills, displaying outstanding quickness, footwork and movement skills.

Additionally, Richardson has impressed evaluators with his size/speed combination (6-foot-1, 188 pounds) and his competitiveness in coverage. He has challenged receivers at every turn, earning positive reviews from coaches and scouts in attendance.
