    obama 45, Romney 45
    obama 48, Palin 42

Obviously it's meaningless now but interesting. I actually consider this bad news as obama is still even with Romney despite the disaster his term has been so far. With obama destroying the economy I would like to think Romney would be ahead right now.

Yeah, but Romney's Mormonism means he's got a better shot at the Democratic nomination then the Republican one and he has no real shot at the D nod.

I'm not sure about that, I know what you're saying but Republicans must have learned now that elections have consequences and they need to nominate their best, most likely to win candidate.

Contended all along that right now Obama is not trying to win a popularity contest, he is using his "political capitol"... suspect next year there will be a kinder, more appealing Obama prior to the midterms.. this ADHD country has a very short attention span, and if we recover a lot of BS will be forgotten by mainstream america.

Sounds about right, that time frame coincides with the ending of his "blame the old guy" allotment that they all get...over a year+ in and all the problems will be his own and he will live/die politically with his own actions. If he's still down in the dumps then it is due to his own fault, if he rises up higher it will be his own work.

That sounds good (for him) in theory but when reality smacks his overly optimistic projections squarely in the face then I don't think he'll be looking all that appealing.

there's nothing Romney can do to fix 40 years of financial incompetence.

    I'm surprised it's so close.
Guess people are'nt as patient as I thought.
    Or less optimistic.

Timing got obama and McCain nominated. I have little doubt that Hillary and Romney would have been the nominees had the economic crash happened one year earlier. At the time everything seemed OK and McCain's steady military hand was appealing to the Right.
