Personally, I think this is tougher than going 19-0. Given the devastation of the SB42 loss, I'd say it would be one of the toughest achievements in NFL history.

Going undefeated next year is obviously tougher as it includes the SB too.

Pats really have already done better than the '72 Dolphins. They have nothing to prove. The only "title" the Dolphins hold is "undefeated" in the season. But they were still only 17-0....and even that is not an official record.
The Pats have proven they can win the superbowl...again and again and again....and again if it weren't for a stopped clock and an ignored holding call. They've proven they can go 18-0....against a tougher schedule.
They don't need to do anything else to prove they're better than the ol' '72 farts.
signbabybrady obviously isn't the brightest crayon in the box. He read your thread title and thought you were talking about going undefeated. Then, as he usually does, he jumps on a reply ready to argue your ear off when, if he had read your opening post, he would have known that you were simply talking about winning the SB and NOT going undefeated.

Agreed. We're still the best team in the league and everyone on the team is mentally tough enough to not only move on from the brutal SB loss, but use it as motivation.
The time is ripe for dynasty part II, the general competition in the NFL is weak right now and there aren't any dominating defenses that can really get in our way. Colts and Chargers will continue to be the main threats, but neither are particularly improving, and if we can defeat those two teams, we will likely find ourselves playing in the Super Bowl multiple times over the next few years.
yeah, real mentally tough. Thats why they lost to a team they should have beat by 14 points, there offense played their worst game of the season in the biggest game, and for the second year in a row the defense wet themselves and allowed a team to march 80 yards down the field in the last 2 minutes.
im not so sure they are what they were mentally 4 years ago,
