Trade
Gorin - 7th from Arizona, 6th conditional on performance
Tucker - Unknown conditional pick
Cobbs - Unknown conditional pick

The irony is that none of these three were likely to make the 53-man roster. That's why they're all conditional-- the receiving team knows that all they're buying is the right to take the player without the chaos of a waiver wire.

The interesting observation is that the Pats talent is so deep that guys 60 players deep on out TC roster are expected to make the roster in other cities. THAT is proof that the BB/SP era is healthy

Free Agency
lost:
Vinatieri, 5 years, $35M (Colts)
Givens, 5 years, $24M (Titans)
Ashworth, 5 years, $13M (Seahawks)
Davis, 1 year, $1.3M (Bills)
Dwight, 4 years, $4.2M (Jets)
Fauria, 2 years, $2M (Redskins)
Chatham, 3 years ??M (Jets)

signed, and likely to make the team:
Caldwell
Jones

We should get Compensatory picks... four is the max, and we're at the max.

Tucker was traded, not cut.

You're both right. I think the pick was conditioned on him making the 53 man roster and when he was cut by them, the pick disappeared....

I still don't think we get any higher than 4th for AV and if we traded a 5th for Gabriel, it leaves the Pats with multiple 6th rounders (look at the chart and maybe convert a few (obviously the non-compensatory ones that can't be traded) into a 5th rounder to make up for the one traded away or trade them for future picks in 2008 or beyond....

pretty amazing stuff
