I suspect it's Derby and Foster as they've both struggled to be active this season. 1 game each I believe.

I'd add Roberts to this group.

To this point there's been room for all of them due to the "luxury" of having two starters suspended, but something has to give.

Yes, something has got to give.

Why isn't Roberts the logical cut when Ninkovich comes back?

Why isn't the #4 TE the logical cut to make room for Brady?

IMO its a given he is cut. I like the kid though. Hope he makes it to the PS

- The #6 LB, whether that means McClellin, Roberts or Mingo.

Of those three, it'd pretty much have to be Roberts, given McClellin's contract and Mingo's trade.

Reading this thread has been hard, just like the decision BB has to make. AJ Foster is the most redundant as the back up 3rd down RB. I think we've seen enough from him in preseason and in the Miami Game so see the potential.

I originally thought that this far into the season, he'd make it through wavers and get to the PC. But as someone pointed out, there are couple of teams who have had injuries and need someone with his skill set. I would hate to see him go to another team and thrive like Danny Woodhead did we the Jets had to let him go. I would hate to see that happen and down the road see the stories like we saw in the case of Woodhead when the Jets cut him and kept someone so irrelevant I can't remember his name. I's hate so see the same story when a thriving AJ Foster on some other team because we chose to keep our #6 ST's specialist.

Maybe the way to go is to cut a more veteran guy who doesn't have to go through waivers, and at a higher cap price be less likely to get picked up this late in the season, and keep him around on the "shadow roster" in case of injuries. Boldin was my first thought, but he's too important as LGB's primary back up.
BTW- speaking of LGB's back up is Gaffney on anyone's roster now or just one someone's PS.

We have a lot of guys with the potential of coming back besides Ninko and Brady. Volmer and Lewis are 2 others who have a chance to come back before the season's over. That means two more guys will have to go.

Its' DJ Foster... Ken.:D

This will be very interesting to see all of these moves. I would guess Harbor and Roberts but who knows. It is a guessing game at this point.

I think you've gotta play the next game before you can decide who gets the ax. Injuries are everything in this game.

I agree. I know he backs up Chung but Jordan Richards seems like a sacred cow to me. Good STer but hes only been on D 3 times in 3 games.

Good, it means Chung has been healthy. I wish the backup left tackle, third tight end, and backup linebacker would have only been needed for 3 snaps so far this year.

I agree. IR-ing Brissett doesn't feel like the right move to me.
Well, we have played three games and have two significant QB injuries in those three games. Our returning QB is a medical marvel in his ability to avoid injury (or play through it), but he is 39 and coming in under very unusual circumstances where he will suddenly be plopped into the game with one week practice. No matter how much he has been working out I think it fair to say that he isn't in normal "game shape", I would expect that Brady would be the first to say that.

So, I agree with you, IR-ing Brissett sounds really unlikely.

I don't consider it out of the realm of Belichickian possibilities that Ninkovich gets traded.

Not sure it's worth it. He has a dead money value of $5m this year. Plus I think the team is better with him than without him even if hes slowing down a little.

How enlightening the Aaron Dobson of Safeties.:D

Foster I can see.

Cutting Waddle would leave the team with Fleming as the only pure backup swing T.

With that said if they think Vollmer will make it back.....

You are probably right, but Cannon is a swing T and they usually only carry 3 T. Plus Vollmer may return

If they dont cut Foster, Waddle or Derby i will be shocked

Cooper, Harbor, Roberts, King, Richards, Foster, Bolden, Waddle, all candidates in my opinion.

Brady and Ninko will comeback in one week, then we have Volmer and Lewis on standby as well, and I think a RB addition should be in the plans. Lots of moves coming.

No chance, he was the best STer last game... Bill love those guys

And Harbor is being active so Derby is in trouble

Wasn't Derby just named player of the week this past week?

Not sure about that.

In 2013 they carried 4 in Solder Seabass, Cannon and Svitek. in 2014 they carried Solder, Seabass, Cannon and Fleming.

Last year they tried to get cute carrying only 3 and it bit them in the butt.

Yeah i agree with you they tried to change the number of T since 2011, they only carried 4 whn they need them to learn the system..

2013 Volmer was on IR list
2014 since 2010 was the exception and maybe this year if they dont cut Waddle
